Sorry for the late reply. with this mount the plate that holds the winch is tilted towards the front of the truck which creates a really nice area for airflow up into the intercooler&radiator. I havent had any heat issues but I also live in a cool climate. Hope that helps

The nice thing about this one is that it adds more protection to the front end. I'm pretty sure someone backed their hitch into the stock plastic that was there on my truck, and now its really well protected for only ~$300 more.
