I think it's cosmetic. It's the air through put that you want to achieve. The Ranger came with a single, but I bought the double black. It's not to loud, but you can hear a rumble.

I did go for the stubby. The Ranger would not fit my son's garage with that ass-a-nine antennae. We use satellite and we have to change the oil and rotate the tires.

I did the Roush intake as well. I found a performance difference.

I believe the Ford package is Borla. I went with MagnaFlow. From the sound clips on the forum, I like the Magna Flow more. It's a personal thing.

Then Ford could always remove a tie down or two....to make up the cost.

My son had an Acura that went through 2 batteries in a month. I got sick of taking it back to Acura for free batteries - I asked the service guys to check for a power drain. They found one of his seats had a short. They fixed it, replaced the battery, and my trips to Acura ceased.
