SSM 49012 - 2020 Ranger - Transmission Selector Lever Backlighting Deleted - Built On And After 11-Jul-2020
2020 Ranger vehicles built on and after 11-Jul-2020 no longer have backlightingfor the PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE, and SPORT (PRNDS) indicators on the transmission selector lever. This...
Yeah, it's been in storage all summer and I've been too busy to get to it. I actually grabbed it over the weekend and it's back at the house, but a little dirty.
I put my relay box in the same spot, but ran the wires through the passenger side grommet. MUCH easier to get to. 2-3 bolts moves the coolant bottle out of the way and it's wide-open.
Locking rear diff, skid plates, and trail control are still very much worth the FX4 premium.
We also didn't know the FX4 shocks would be so floaty from the factory...
I didn't purchase the official kit, so I don't have the filter.
The tire changes simply just allow the PCM to be happy about reprogramming up to a larger tire
Ordered the kit, got really excited, then FedEx lost it for a couple days.
Finally showed up yesterday, and one of the coilovers is defective. One of the top studs just spins in place.
So that's cool.
I've flashed my truck at this point with the FP cal, but I have a full tank of 87, and I'm taking a company car out of town for some testing, so I can't provide much feedback yet.
BUT, I've seen the raw calibration changes, and there are absolutely gains if you're already running 93.
I've also...
De-tuned for a reason. They wouldn't reduce power in a much heavier vehicle as an oversight. In Ford development, truck engines need to pass much more stressful fatigue tests. This is because they spend significantly more time at peak loads (hauling, pulling trailers, etc.) A 2.3L at RS power...
Mountune is good stuff. They are similar to Roush in that they have access to actual Ford development PCMs and to some extent Ford facilities (although not as much as Roush there.) Back when Mountune released the warranty-approved RS calibration, the data was sent to Ford for review & signoff...
To comment on the FP tune being "watered down" vs other tunes (since it makes less power.) There's math & statistics behind the numbers that Ford develops. I'll shed a bit of background, and please note the numbers I give are to illustrate the example, and not the real engineering specs for the...
You'll be fine on the stock filter. They're just aware that a lot of customers don't like paying $800 for something they can't touch, or paying for something the truck can do from the factory with a few different 1's & 0's in the software.
