  1. Least amount of miles driven...

Tv This is America, and you can spend your money on whatever you want. But that doesn't mean it isn't stupid! If you don't want to drive because you're living in an area with high crime and terrible drivers, then why even have a vehicle? Especially at only 200 miles per year?? 15% of his...
  2. Aggressive extended care sales / Turbo issues?

It was also a service plan that included 15 oil changes, as well as a bunch of detail services at the end of the 5 years. Still not worth it but it was a lot more than just a warranty. When I refinanced, the refinance guy was gonna sell me a warranty for $1100 which seemed pretty good but I...
  3. Catch Can Poll

I drained a decent amount out of my catch can today, being back in the northeast I feel it acts as more of a water condenser than anything but it definitely traps some oil and fuel vapor. My truck has smelled like fuel vapor since day one of the catch can install. UPR can with the check valves...
  4. Aggressive extended care sales / Turbo issues?

This was the big sales pitch to me "there are over 100 sensors and computers in this truck and the average repair bill at this dealership when people come in for a computer is over $3200 dollars" the warranty they were selling me was like $6500 bucks so I could have TWO computer failures and...
  5. Aggressive extended care sales / Turbo issues?

Man that's a crappy experience. Can you imagine the nerve of these people to tell you the $40k vehicle you want to purchase is so unreliable you have to buy an extended warranty?? When I bought my Ranger it was late in the day. I got done with finance and left the dealership after 9pm (after...
  6. Least amount of miles driven...

I can barely imagine buying a used economy car to drive <500 miles in two years, let alone buying a brand new vehicle!
  7. My Lariat Tremor is on it's way, and I'm not buying it

My bad! Didn't even look at the name, was just confused why people were giving you so much crap for changing your order and I banged out a response real quick lol. Edited my original post. The Maverick/Tacoma combo will cover your bases well! (If you can even get a Maverick now, can't believe...
  8. My Lariat Tremor is on it's way, and I'm not buying it

Maybe she reevaluated her needs and is getting a vehicle that will be more appropriate for her? I wish I could get a Maverick for the better mpg and lower purchase price, but I unfortunately need a midsize truck often enough that I needed to step up to the ranger. I dream about trucks all the...
  9. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Today I drove my Ranger home. Over 2600 miles in the last five days to make the annual spring journey from Salt Lake City to western Maine. Combined with a quick camping trip from SLC to St. George and back earlier in the week, I have driven over 3300 miles since I got my oil changed six days...
  10. Rear Differential service

I plan on doing mine at 30k to remove any break in metals then every 60k after that unless I submerge it in water. I find it hard to believe that oil or rear diff technology has improved so much that you should go 150k between changes. Used to be 30-60k. Oil is cheap and diffs definitely aren't.
  11. Members buying 2022, why aren't you waiting for the 2023 Model?

I bought my '21 because I was in desprate need of a vehicle, and had gone to the dealer to buy a used f150, but I realized a new ranger with 10 miles was the same price as an f150 with 100k. No brainer at that point. I make do with the size (would love a 6.5ft bed, that .5ft would make a big...
  12. Oversized OEM Replacement Fuel Tank

As exciting as the idea of a 25+ gallon tank is, I think the odds of me spending $2k on a tank to have more convenience is basically zero. The tank works, and is free with the truck. I stop all the time to piss anyway, it would just be nice to time my fuel ups at my preferred stations and...
  13. Oversized OEM Replacement Fuel Tank

A 25 gallon tank would be sweet for towing. The 18 gallon tank is fine for driving around empty but the towing range is way too short. Excited to see where this goes.
  14. My boss just won the Tremor war...

Maybe you do get some additional engine life out of a diesel, but by the time you pay the initial extra cost, and the much more expensive maintenance along the way, it is still more expensive than a gasser. You could drop a brand new gas crate motor in once your gas engine wears out and still be...
  15. My boss just won the Tremor war...

Expense is one thing, unnessecary expense is another. If you haul a big trailer or a heavy payload a lot of miles, a luxury super duty makes sense, even at $91k. However, driving empty 150 miles a day for work doesn't seem like F-350 territory. Have an occasional need to haul a 5th wheel? Maybe...
  16. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Big week for the ranger. Drove 4hrs down to St. George for a quick spring camping getaway. 80mph right into the wind the whole time returned some of my worst milage ever. 18.9 on the computer and 17.8 hand calc. Drove up a super steep, very rough forest service road to get to our campsite. 4hi...
  17. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Took my truck to the dealer for its 5th oil change in 54 weeks. They swapped my summer tires (on rims already), washed the truck, and fixed a windshield chip. $61.58 out the door feels like a bargain!
  18. Well folks, I'm sorry

Thats a hell of a ride, I like the chrome on this color/model actually. No offense to the ranger guys but I think chrome looks silly on our trucks! What's the door sticker say for payload? Congrats on the new rig!
  19. FX4 or Locking differential

I have a 4x4 STX with the locking diff. This is my first vehicle with a locking rear diff, and third 4x4 vehicle. I find for normal on road snow/ice usage 4x4 and open diffs is plenty. I drove all over colorado in a rear wheel drive econoline van with an open diff. The van was very heavy, and...
  20. Sure this is somewhere in the forum however - Curiously... How many miles per year do you average?

Bought mine March 29th 2021, and just rolled over 21k. Gearing up for the spring drive back to Maine which will tack 2500 on it in less than a week. 12-15k has been my average in the past, but the ranger is gonna be doing 20k a year for the foreseeable future.
