  1. UnderCover Swing Case and Factory Spray in Bedliner

My preference is a thread cleaner rather than a tap.
  2. Trailer Sway Control

Usually something like a camper is built with proper weight distribution in mind and is harder to make it sway. Where you run into problems is a cargo or flat bed that has been loaded incorrectly. In my case it was a dump trailer used for trash from construction sites. Someone put concrete...
  3. Trailer Sway Control

I've had a trailer whip violently enough to drag a Superduty sideways. I'll risk any possible damage or bending of the receiver to have a WDH and sway brake. Sideways with a trailer at 60 is about as scary as it gets, I thought I was dead for sure.
  4. Trailer Sway Control

Gyroscopic sensors in the RCM report roll and turning rates to detect sway. The truck will selectively brake individual wheels on the truck only and adjust engine power to help control sway. Best way to stop a trailer from whipping is to accelerate while hitting the trailer brakes. Edit: I...
  5. Saw a F100 today!

This is what my ranger replaced, it was 2wd when I bought it. Still my favorite body style.
  6. Driveshaft Phasing

Do any of you with stock trucks want to put a few hundred pounds in the bed of your truck and see if anything changes? Like the speed or intensity of the vibration?
  7. Driveshaft Phasing

Those of you with the vibration issues, how many are with a completely stock truck?
  8. Driveshaft Phasing

Might be interesting to see if you could get some screenshots of it. I haven't fought any vibrations on a ranger yet. I've had pretty good luck detecting vibration issues on drivelines by attaching an accelerometers to the carrier bearing bracket though. Just make sure to use a couple zip ties...
  9. Driveshaft Phasing

Do you happen to have access to a vcmm with the accelerometers?
  10. Attempted my first oil and filter change today!

You don't know tight filters until you spin a canister off the base.
  11. Driveshaft Phasing

It's definitely a funky design but the one lifted one I've driven didn't shake and his driveline was clocked in this way. If I see it again I'll measure working angles, take pictures and see what's going on.
  12. Driveshaft Phasing

I work at a Ford Dealer as well. This picture from rough country is what I have seen done for lifted Rangers. Edit: now that I think about it there may be 4 blocking splines only allowing movement in 90 degree increments. I never looked close enough.
  13. Driveshaft Phasing

The driveline can be reindexed. There is no blocking spline.
  14. can i make/use a plain old metal key?

https://carkeysexpress.com/store/keys-and-remotes/Ford/F-150/2019/1005565-ford-transponder-key-newuncut?gclid=CjwKCAjw5cL2BRASEiwAENqAPjrBAi0U2eujvgzb1xjfGjxWKKfyQUpriOveC0GmhGZ4toWSXgs2sRoCG6YQAvD_BwE It looks just like this, I can't find the Ford one right now though.
  15. can i make/use a plain old metal key?

I'll see if I can get you a part number. Ford makes a backup key that is just a blade. It works in the door but won't start the truck because of pats.
  16. Driveshaft Phasing

All Rangers are this way. I'm not sure why they make the driveline this way.
  17. 2019 Ford Ranger P1300 trouble code

If that is the case I would try topping it off with premium. Poor quality or old fuel will cause this code and would explain the ping. You may have pumped the fuel only a few weeks ago but with everything going on lately who knows how long it was in the stations tank.
  18. 2019 Ford Ranger P1300 trouble code

I don't see P1300 in the PC/ED for a ranger, are you sure it's not P130D? How long has it sat with the fuel in the tank?
  19. Torque steer, has any one experienced this when going around a bend at speed?

Make sure to set the cruise control first. Just as good as autopilot.
  20. Torque steer, has any one experienced this when going around a bend at speed?

It's the little button on the end of the stalk to enable and disable.
