Looks like the fan has a mechanical clutch and an electronic ( similar to a/c compressor ) clutch also? Very surprised it doesn't have electric fan(s)...
BTW, didn't check my build date, but shifts are silky smooth and transmission never seems confused.
Drive home from dealer, registered 22.8, actual 22.9 mpg (tires over inflated 15 psi). It was likely a little better as the dealer probably didn't wait 30 seconds after the click and top it off, but close enough. Did a 114 mile 2 day to/from work, 15% thru town's, 85% 2 lane 55 mph hilly, curvy...
This. I am still trying to figure out where my warning will come from. I have everything turned on in the menu and the sensitivity set to highest and I've closed in on some cars hard on the brakes to a point that if I didn't hit my brakes, I feel it would have been too late to avoid a crash.
Just did my second hand calculation after 2 trips to/from work. 87 octane, 114 miles 15% thru town and 85% 2 lane hilly winding back roads 55-60 mph. Computer read 24.7 mpg, took 4.798 gallons after 2 click fill up from same pump, 23.76 mpg. After almost 1,200 miles, truck is showing 23.0 MPG. I...
So I'm a little confused. The OASIS message says 2019 Rangers com equipped with AEB standard. I thought only co-pilot 360 offered this? Either way, if I have a trailer brake controller installed that's not compatible with the AEB, what will happen? I'm assuming if my AEB activates, that my...
Ugh. I was looking at the convenience of the echo and was willing to overlook the price. I have a cheap , smaller, controller from my old truck that worked as advertised ( although it had a plug and play harness ), I guess I'll wire it in and try to mount it sorta out of site.
The 2 things I wish I could change on this truck (XLT 4x4): 1.) I'd trade the power folding mirrors for heated mirrors. 2.) The rear seat should be 60/40 and offer better storage.
I am assuming these are both by-products of the global truck platform? I have read mixed reviews on the ride...
I have checked mine twice. Once it was registering 22.8 mpg and it calculated out to 22.9 mpg. The other time it was reading 23.3 and it calculated out to 23.1 mpg. Both times were after approx 200 miles. I am running 35 psi in my tires. I chalked them and it looked good and I don't notice a...
After owning and driving this Ranger for almost 1,000 miles now, I can say that I was pretty much spot on with my assessment of the 2.3L after coming from a 2.7L F-150/6 speed. The 2.3L does compare very favorably to a V6 naturally aspirated offering and I think it is a far superior choice to...
I would like an answer to this as well. I could not get my XLT with ATC (302a) to blow air out of multiple places. Every time I selected one, it canceled the other. The owners manual is pretty vague on climate control. Under "Manual Climate Control" it says: "you can direct air through the...
I would say that anyone doing the extended oil change interval should change the filter every 5k and top off the oil. Clean oil and a dirty filter doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Personally I'll change oil and filter every 5k. Going to run the FL 400s for a little more filter media too. I'll...
I have been wondering about this. I use FL 400-S on my Fusion that calls for the 910-S. Was hoping that it would work on the Ranger too, but was a little worried about room.
200 miles into trip home with new truck ( Super Crew FX4 ) Computer read 22.8 mpg. Took 8.7 gallons to fill up after click, wait 15 seconds click again. 22.9 mpg actual. Truck showed 24.0 mpg after 300 mile trip. Discliamer: Tires were overinflated by 15 psi....:lipssealed:
Paid $37,500 O.T.D. tax, tags etc. on an XLT Super Crew 302A, Sport/ FX4 w/Tow package. MSRP of $40,080. So basically $34,700 before tax, tags and clerical fees. No trade, just a straight deal.
As others have mentioned, you'll see better deals/incentives come fall when dealer inventories build up to desired levels. I am a big advocate of the 2.7 in a Ranger. With that said, if Ford did announce it as an option for 2020 and it came with a $1,500 price tag. I would buy a 19' with 2.3 (...
Who's trading in? That would not make sense for most. But, a new buyer of a 2020 would be crazy not to buy a 2.7 over the 2.3 if the option was priced right. With that said, I think Ford will put a premium on the 2.7 should it be an option. It's not needed when compared to the 2.3. It is wanted...
Diesels really make no sense in a 1/2 ton. They'll never pay for themselves for 99% of the people who buy them. The F-150 diesel has basically been a sales flop. I doubt the Ranger will get one. If Ford want's "Best in class" bragging rights, they have a 2.7 that would crush everything in the class.
Look at the torque of the 2.7. It dynos better than the 5.0 in hp and tq. Can the 2.3 say that? Compared to the 2.3, the 2.7 makes much more usable (truck) tq at a very low rpm. When your spooling turbo(s) you're using gas. It's the same reason why the 2.7 and 3.5 don't do any better, and...
My thoughts also. I'm not saying the 2.3L is a bad choice or not capable, especially compared to the current class offerings, but the 2.7 would do everything with so much less effort that I believe it would actually get better real world mpg for the vast majority of owners. Plus it would change...
