Another 330 mile's and I got a hand calculated 21.3 (22.5 indicated) mpg in normal day to day driving. My truck on average reads about 1 mpg high, but it has been within the EPA ratings all 6 times I've done a hand calculation. Not sure why anyone would ever be so naive to get involved in a...
I went from an FX4 F-150 2.7 SuperCab to an FX4 Ranger SuperCrew. I am honestly very impressed at how smooth the 10 spd is. Occasionally, when I'd let off the gas before a turn going up a grade near my house i'd get a bump shift from 5-4 in my F-150, like it was waiting too long to down shift...
The 3.3 makes zero sense to me. The market Ford was/is after has accepted turbos for a while now and the 2.3L is probably more CAFE friendly with better capabilities. Unless the 3.3 is a cheaper ( to produce ) option, Ford could make it the base engine and bump the 2.3L price up as a typical...
So what is the warranty? 3/36? You could go thru 72 of these if they have a 500 mile shelf life. Are the new ones better? I loved the keyless entry key pad, but I'm not gonna hate my truck that I otherwise love because it doesn't have it. I'd rather not have it than have it work 1/2 azz.....
Well, just got done reading all 9 pages.....Interesting to say the least. I remember 15-17 years ago these things had "lifetime" batteries and they programmed via key cycles like programming an extra PATS key. I never saw one go dead, but knew the battery could be replaced. Must be all the extra...
My Ford Pass is not working today. Chat told me to contact a dealer for service as the Sync connect is not receiving any commands from the Ford Pass app. Kind of a bummer. Locked my keys in the truck, was on hold for over 10 minutes. I really miss my keyless entry key pad and hate that the...
The 10 speed rwd platform and 9 speed fwd were joint efforts. The 10 speed was a Ford led/developed project ( Assuming this is why it was predominately offered in FoMoCo vehicles much sooner ) while the 9 speed trans axle was GM led. Interesting to me is that Ford actually dropped the 9th gear...
Not sure if your truck is on level ground, but your trailer looks like the nose is way too high. Either your ball is to high compared to the trailer coupler or you have way too much weight distribution. There are tons of videos on youtube explaining the set up for basically every weight...
Frivolous. Too many people have documented achieving published numbers. A 3" lift and 33" tires and you're still getting 16 mpg? Sounds about right. Did you do a before and after? I had a 2008 F-150 that was getting hand calculated 17 mpg with a very light foot. I put a 1.75" front spacer kit...
Thanks for the write up. I've been looking for some mirrors, will definitely consider these. Wish K-source or CIPA (?) would offer some snap on or slide on. Had them on previous trucks and they barely even vibrate and look almost factory.
Cool. I haven't towed yet with my Ranger. I had some sway issues with my F-150, but only at certain speeds. I never did check the hitch setup, but always felt like the dealer set it up with too much weight distribution and not enough tongue weight.. I have the E2 friction setup so I need a...
BcP28,
I kicked around the idea of getting those. I ended up getting the factory molded because of the cheaper price. I am very happy with the molded guards, but those flat ones look great on your truck! You won't see many Rangers with them either, which is cool IMHO.
I agree 110% on both. Good Bilstein shocks make a difference on anything. That being said, I don't think this truck came with complete garbage shocks. I have an FX4 and really like the ride. I'll likely not change my shocks until it gets 50k or more. I set my tires to 35 psi cold and feel this...
Good Lord! If that's the highest sensitivity in the above test, what happens on the lowest? LOL. I don't get any warnings saying it's not working, so I guess it is. I'm putting my mind at ease now.....Or I could turn it off to feel safer.
Yes we indeed do. And even the perfect driver can't account for the person distracted who could come into his lane at a moments notice. I set my sensitivity to the highest and have yet to get any feedback from the system. I would have expected it to be intrusive. I have had a few cars brake...
It's more of a compromise than being a full on Sunday driver. I live in a pretty hilly area. I roll in and out of the throttle like there's a hard boiled egg between my foot and the pedal. I learned to do this in a previous older F-150 just to achieve 16 mpg vs the 13 mpg I was getting. I keep...
I am assuming you don't have adaptive cruise either? Sorry if you already mentioned that. I am convinced mine is not working either. I have it on it's highest setting and nothing happens. The manual says: "Note: If you perceive Pre-Collision assist alerts as being too frequent or disturbing...
I didn't pay much attention to the gibberish you posted until the part in bold. Yes I would like to know that my pre collision assist is there and functioning for my young driver who I know is going to make mistakes. I am teaching her the right way believe it or not. I guess with your logic I...
The manual says the system is active above 3 mph and pedestrian detection is active up to 50 mph. I checked, unchecked and rechecked my settings. Max sensitivity, all options active. I placed 2 over sized 33 gallon trash bags filled with foam padding in my driveway and approached at 10 mph. I...
