I would take one in a second. Perfect go between for 1/2 ton capability and mid size dimensions. I would like a 1/2 ton again for the twice a year I would use it, but the size and cost is crazy to me if buying new. Give me this with a manual and I would be happy.
Just hoping Mikes experience doesn’t pass on to us too. If our drive shafts are off at all, tightening up the bearing will exacerbate the issue. I did get the street hardness. In past trucks I have put fuel hose and zip ties in the gaps to great success. Made it feel less sloppy. It was the...
I once had a truck that had 205lb wheel and tire combo, per tire. This is why I am pro hub centric. But for regular people probably not as extreme. Your friction is probably enough. Lol
Im not going to argue that one bit. Maybe its a bigger deal on 1 ton trucks. Thats where most of my truck knowledge is from. Still gives me the warm fuzzies. I would do an aluminum ring regardless of the physics behind it.
Ford trucks come with hub centric wheels. Meaning the hub ring take the weight of the vehicle. The lugs in stock form only hold the tire on. Your call how you want to proceed. Im not your dad. But your lugs are now taking the weight of the vehicle.
Well I ordered one of these carrier bearing holders today. Ships in may it said. I definitely feel some play around parking lots and shifting to reverse or drive. Figured why not lets try it. Also got some poly sway bar bushings.
Honestly made a bigger difference than expected. Just did the cvf hot pipes on my wife’s expedition to fix a leak. Only to make more leaks because they sent the wrong size clamps. Upon inspection of my ranger, same thing on the hot side, I have been leaking boost for a year. Correct clamps...
You need intercooler charge pipes now. Thats the only difference between us. Except tuner of preference and the controversial velossa tech scoop I have. I see 25 mpg at 72 in perfect conditions now even with a 1” level. And I have 125k, tuned since around 20k cause the trans felt off.
Just look at chevy v8s and their issues. It might not all be thin oil but it plays a part. Some 5w30 from the start might have helped some engines. Like LV would probably be better for us but they are designed to run too hot.
Nice color. Swap the trans pan to anything with a drain plug. The aluminum cools better and makes follow up changes easier. Dipstick is a must. Tons of other things to blow money on too, we will start slow as you already have a bike.
