I have done it. I put the jack stands on the frame only. If that cross member can handle a skid plate slamming on rocks a jack is probably fine. But lets someone who thinks before they do answer.
It will be all in the springs honestly. Get some good deavers. Probably need a 2-3 inch lift. A multi leaf pack with nice thin flexible leafs. Good shocks will help too. A spring under axle kit will allow more travel and less axle wrap with a lift too.
Wonder how it is pronounced? Someone should call and see. There is an IHop outside of Gastonia NC on Cox Rd. They used to answer the phone “IHop on Cox, how can I help you?”
Sad reason for smaller vehicles to be selling better. Cars are so expensive anymore. Plus they keep getting gigantic. If someone told me 30 years ago the new M5 will weight as much as a 95 f250 I would have laughed them out the door… but alas.
Yes good idea on the tubing. A small hole in boots can make a loud squeal once into boost. Just took a road trip with that issue. Had to keep it under 8psi to avoid it… it was loud.
Squealing while going up hill past a certain rpm could be the belt, a belt accessory, slipping transmission, bad turbo, ect. Check condition of fan belt right away its easy. A misfire should be more pronounced being a 4 cyl. But a plug with cracked ceramic might only arc past a certain rpm...
Center console gives it away when your in there. So much space between you and the passenger. From a side profile look they are similar. From the front you can see the extra width. When I first got the ranger it felt like I was driving a toy. Now it feels fine.
Yes my tonnage comment was not based on the load capacity of the truck but the F150 (half ton). Even though load capacity and that rating have long been wrong. The ranger is technically a 3/4 ton based on capacity.
To me a 1/2 ton is an F150. 3/4 and up are what I consider full size even...
