Only use motorcraft please. Same reason for the oil filters. This is a hot / cold filter element. Don’t want some aftermarket garbage messing it up. Oddly enough the explorer filter cost twice as much and looks identical.
Its so much more than a tranny plug. Better cooling, stronger for impacts from road debris, plastic is an insulator, better case rigidity, and its fun to look at.
Not exactly but it was less than a quart more but not by much. Wifes explorer too a quart more. Her oem pan was smaller. Did them both within a few days. Huge improvement. Mr transmission blowing pioneer, I am shocked you dont already have one.
But if it came with some lights on it….
Well this guy openly said he abuses it. I have done some dumb stuff in trucks in my youth. You would be surprised what gives out when you push stuff to the limits. Luckily for old fords the rear shackles blew apart and the leafs poked holes in the bed. It was like a fuse to save the axle...
Based on the OP I think he is doing the install himself. How can you mess up putting in an axle shaft? To the point of getting destroyed. Unless the first break damaged the carrier?
Well they are getting shredded for some reason. You could weld it on and fully weld the tubes to the housing. Easy to do if you can make it yourself and weld. Hardened axle shafts and an upgrade carrier would be next. The tubes are spot welded I believe. Wonder how much deflection they have.
Rick, I think the point that was made is it appears you take a lot of shorter trips. Engines are not a fan of that, especially direct injection. They are more prone to fuel contamination. So you drive 2-2500 miles a year. Is this a daily driver or a weekend toy? Context helps so we can...
Front or rear? Either way we do not have the most durable axles out there. Get stronger aftermarket shafts, look into an f150 rear axle and narrow it down, bronco front axle housing is beefier as well.
Otherwise a rear axle truss could help if you are beating it so hard it is flexing a...
