By built in delay, are you referring to the downshifting? I've noticed it takes A LOT of throttle to get it to downshift sometimes.

Funny you posted this; I just ordered one of those bed extenders from Amazon to transport my 2 kayaks. Longest one is 12'. They had really good reviews. I should have it in a day or two and can report back.

After meeting up with @alan0164 to buy a bed mat, I was immediately convinced I needed a bug deflector. Installed today. I'm pretty happy with it. I also washed it but a storm prevented me from waxing.

I'm sticking to 5k and pretty much nothing will change my mind. 5k is a nice even number and I've never had any oil related issues on any of my cars. Dump it at 5 to keep her alive!
