This error code popped up on my truck recently :frown:. The transmission will not go into gear no matter what gear shift selection. Revs like it is in neutral. I looked through some of the threads here to see if others had this problem as well. Some had something similar but with different...
As much as I would like to see another Ranger find a new home. I think if you are planning to be up against the Ranger's max tow of 7,500 lbs regularly. That it may be wiser to step up to an F-150 capable of 11,500 lbs for better control and peace of mind. You would have more wiggle room for...
Welcome to the forums. My guess is that it is steam vapor created as the engine and exhaust system warm up to temp. The weather also can play a part in enhancing this effect. I take it that you do not smell any burning smells to go along with this to cause concern?
Also take into...
I had the wacky idea of placing a strong bar or 4x4? post wider than the truck across the top of the bed by the cab. Use that as the mount point for the ATV winch. Connect the ends of the beam to the tow hooks up front with tow straps or something.
The downside is keeping the straps off the...
Thanks for the updates, guys. The pictures help a lot too. I just checked my glove box and have the spare bolts. Seriously tempted to get this from Stage 3 and the Raptor grill as well.
A good new towing review of the Ranger on this vid with TFL Offroad.
TFL already did another review of them doing the Ike Gauntlet challenge with the Ranger earlier.
I saw that style of phone holder on Amazon and wondered if the phone would flip out of it and into the cab under moderate / heavy acceleration. I take it you have no problems with the phone staying in place. Think I will order one as well.
I pulled a 1970's era 19.5' Slickcraft that had an old Mercruiser inline 6 cylinder truck motor and outboard drive with my Ranger not long ago and barely knew the boat was there. I imagine my tow weight was more than twice what your setup is. You should have no worries at all.
I wonder why...
Thanks for the explanation Phil of a plant drive. I feel better about the few miles that were on my truck.
Very scary experience about the guy going through the paint oven.
Hi @P. A. Schilke
Phil, in your response of... (a few posts up)
...could you please expand more on what you mean by a 'plant drive'. Is it a vehicle randomly chosen for quality testing? Or more a vehicle was found with a problem that was diagnosed, tested and fixed?
I ask because my...
Hiyas,
Not sure exactly what you are asking about, what or how heavy you are planning to tow. I will toss some ideas out there and let you decide. I'm sure others will chime in with ideas as well.
Our trucks tend to sit kinda high so the receiver is up there if you have a small utility...
I am interested in this as well. Please let us know when you have it and what you think. I like that this is stainless steel. Much nicer than the flat pieces of plastic or aluminum I have been looking at cutting to fit in there.
@Polar Bear (or anyone else) if you find an OBDII boost gauge setup like in your first post here would you let us know? I would like something like that as well. Currently use my phone and Torque app when I want that info.
Would prefer something less bulky than my phone on the dash. I...
