Wow, I thought it was bad where I used to live when squirrels would get into the engine bay of my Jetta and feast on nuts leaving the empty shells everywhere. I second that using scented dryer sheets can help. Makes them think there is a human about, supposedly. Leave some inside the truck...
Just saw this on youtube and impressed with Ford stepping up to help out against the virus. I had heard they were making masks and things. This video adds to it. Good job Engineering Explained for sharing the news. Good job to Ford and all those helping and keeping things moving forward...
Just curious what part of the state you are in. I've lived in areas of NC where Verizon is better and others where AT&T is better. I understand how you feel and in case I ever move close to your area it would be nice to know in advance about coverage. Planning a move later this year.
Interesting. Maybe they changed the plug during the production cycle. Mine was built in June '19 and I have the flexible washer. When was yours built that you got the copper washer?
My advice to those who do not have one yet is to get a torque wrench. You don't need the most expensive or fanciest one available. Use on your drain plugs, spark plugs, lug nuts, etc and torque them to spec properly. It is a great peace of mind tool investment to have.
@Hounddog409 Looks good. Thanks for confirming I am not the only one crazy enough to think... 'Do I really need to take all this stuff off if it just slips in where it needs to go?'
@HTX1811 Here is a pollen covered pic I took just after install. You can get both of them from Stage 3 Motorsports, who is a forum sponsor. I ordered the grill from them and the lower insert from ebay CARiD only because S3M were out of those at the time. Both shipped quickly...
That is more invasive an install than I thought at first. I read the original post as a mere dongle inserted into the OBD II port, not a hard wired setup.
Not sure I would appreciate my dealer insisting on installing anything on my vehicle that was not on the truck from the factory if I had not requested it. Looked at the KAHU website and a bunch of the 'benefits' it claims to offer the vehicle buyer are already available via Ford Pass app...
Installed the Raptor grill that came in by UPS today as well as the Putco lower grill insert that came in yesterday. Looks great. No pics yet because truck is still covered pollen. Plan to wash it tomorrow if the weather is nice.
Am I the only one to install the lower grill insert by Putco without removing any parts from their Ranger? Decided to try a test fit and found it easy to insert the grill into place through the hole it covers. Granted, I do not have the fancy cruise control module to get in the way.
Thanks, @RedlandRanger . I'm glad it is something easy to fix. I understand that when things are massed produced that sometimes parts need to be replaced. I realize it is a part that Ford has sourced out to be made. If it became a regular occurrence then I would start to become concerned...
It was ages before my truck icon went from a grey outline to an actual colored version of my truck. Just checked the app this morning and it seems they updated it. Looks nicer.
It can do that at times. Nothing to worry too much about. When it has happened to me it comes back after a few days. You can try logging out of the app and then back in again sometimes that clears the issue.
