I appreciate it. I can see where greater articulation would keep those tires planted better. I had followed (IIRC) your thread on the OME stuff and it helped in my decision in going with that. I was considering the rear springs at some point but it seemed like some users were having trouble with...
Last winter I installed the OME 2.5" lift/leveling kit. I kept the factory rear springs, but put in Bilstein B8 5100 shocks.
OME complete front kit (springs and struts). Rear stock springs with Bilstein shocks. Sorry.
These definitely fill out the fender wells better. To be clear, they are 16" rims so the 265/75-16 are almost exactly the same as 265/70-17.
Absolutely no rubbing whatsoever (there was plenty of opportunity, too). According to Yokohama these are 31.9" diameter / o/a width=10.7" / tread...
Last winter I installed the OME 2.5" lift/leveling kit. I kept the factory rear springs, but put in Bilstein B8 5100 shocks. This weekend was the first time I really got to running it on a good trail. I completed Hurricane Creek Trail in the mountains of Western NC. It's hardly a serious rock...
Whenever I do online research thru forums or elsewhere - no matter the product - I try to take a lot of the complaints with a grain of salt unless I'm finding a consistent trend with certain things.
Nothing is perfect and automobiles are no exception. Remember Tacoma frame cracking? Subaru...
Back in 2001 I bought a "certified" preowned 99 Toyota Tacoma from a Toyota dealership. A month or two later during the first cold snap of the season my truck died due to a weak battery. Took it to a shop and had it replaced. They showed me the 300~ CCA motorcycle battery that the dealership...
Standard 4x4 here (XL / STX).
The main thing I noticed was that replacing the rears got rid of the annoying front end bob or bounce when moving at creeping speeds in drive-throughs and edging into my driveway. The little final stop that resulted a bobsy dip in the front end. Regardless of one's...
After tires, the most significant improvement I made to my 5G ranger was replacing the rear shocks. (In my case with Bilsteins).
I've driven compact/mid-size 4WD pickups since the late 1980s and the factory shocks and struts on my Ranger were ...not bad...but, uh, not really "truck-like"...
Perfect! That's correct, ...to connect to the end by the frame rail! Thanks!!!
ETA: I scanned this thread but obviously came up short on info. Thanks for the direct answer and link!
Is there a part/ part no. for just the pigtail harness? I have my own 12V cigarette/ USB power outlet and prefer not to splice the existing Ranger wires if I can just get the connector.
UPDATE:
Disregard this post. Wheels located and purchased.
I'm interested in buying up to four 2019/2020 Ranger factory 16" steel rims (16 x 7).
Not interested in paying for shipping but if you're within a 2 hour drive of Winston-Salem/ Greensboro, I'd consider meeting depending on price...
This is something I've had to learn to accept over the years. I've always tried to fix and do things myself. Yes, many times I watched those great how-to vids where everything is easy peasy. So endeth the lesson...
When I put the Bilstein shocks on the rear of my ranger, I did it in the...
4x (four)Factory 255/65-17 Dueler A/T, less than 800 miles on 'em. No damage or issues, just switched out early for some beefier rubber.
Asking $120. I'm in the Winston-Salem / Greensboro / High Point area.
Thanks!
Jeff
Greetings,
Just joined as well, having bought my Ranger last November.
I'll admit when Ford reintroduced the Ranger, I was skeptical of the engine. But, well, yeah... now I love it! The transmission is not my fav but it works.
I'm not a big "bells & whistles" kind of guy so the XL was just...
