Two doctors each have one where I work. They seem to like them but I suspect it's more of a status thing because several of the Teslas are also owned by doctors. The few coworkers I know who are actually into 4WD and such still prefer their Jeeps and Yotas.
I liked the design/style when I first...
Not all Jeep owners are like that. I had a pretty positive experience last year. Posted about it in the offroad thread:

Just checked my engine and pulled the pack on cyl #4 (rear of engine) about a half hour ago. It has been raining like a monsoon here for the past day and night. Fortunately I saw no moisture on the surface of the intake around it or anything in the well. No moisture, no corrosion.

I use sport mode because the throttle response is better and I manually shift between 1st and 2d gears (mainly) on most of the trails I ride. I'm almost exclusively in four wheel drive, especially 4-low, and the trailering mode settings are still to nuanced for for my comfort and control.

I had planned on putting an amp in but decided to sideline this whole project for now. Things are getting really expensive and uncertain these days in reference to the national economy so I've needed to re-prioritize...
I appreciate your input. Modern technology is wonderful in some aspects, but it's made it really difficult for aftermarket upgrades. Not like the "old days" anyways. I'd rather just replace the head unit and speakers and be done with it. Instead, I end up spending more money experimenting with...

Yeah, the salesperson/tech was adamant that the Kickers were great and that the problem was that the factory radio just didn't have the juice to power them to their full potential.
UPDATE:
Went into a local car audio shop today and explained my problem. The guy started nodding his head up and down, reached into the display case counter we were at and put a compact amp in front of me saying: "This is what you need." He seemed to be rather familiar with the complaint...
