  1. 2.3Eco in a Disco

    I love this project!
  2. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

Right! I'm all f'ed up now on this, kinda, because I think my extended warranty runs out in May of '26. I kinda want my blend door and HVAC to go out while I have the warranty because after that, I'm gonna be screwed. But I barely drive the truck, so it's not getting wore out and breaking.
  3. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

After 10 days the truck got to come home. The shop foreman said there were no codes, and they ran a 1/4 tank of fuel out of it test driving it without any issues. His opinion was the transmission probably burped, probably because it had been overfilled. He checked the level and its fine. They're...
  4. How do we feel about snorkels?

When I lived in GA I absolutely loved having a snorkel on my truck. I was fairly dusty trails often and my air filter always stayed clean. I live in flat South Florida now and I haven't been off road in a long time. Now the snorkel is a fancy truck ornament. ?
  5. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

Ughhhhh. I miss my truck. It's stupid because I work from home and it sits parked. But I still miss it!
  6. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

Ughhhhh. I'm preparing myself for, "It is driving fine. Tech couldn't replicate the problem." Even though I have trans fluid all over the bottom of the truck. And then we'll play games until my extended warranty runs out in 2026 and I have to eat any problems. Actually, I'm pretty hopeful...
  7. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

What caused the demise? Over filled or 10R80 problems?
  8. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

I think it's @ctechbob for the win here. I forgot the trans doesn't have a skid, so I checked under it and found some drops in my driveway.
  9. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

Well... ...the truck is still under (extended) warranty and it was the dealership that did the work. I'm going to pull the skid plate tomorrow and see if it's holding trans fluid, and go from there.
  10. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

Roughly 35,000 miles with a filter and fluid change 1.5 yrs ago. The KAM was also reset so the transmission could relearn.
  11. Am I next on the transmission issue list?

My wife drove an hour north to try some other towns beach out. We stopped and had a nice brunch before hotting the beach. No issues with the truck! We left the beach, ended up on the turnpike, no issues. After about 45 minutes, I let off the gas as I approached a slower vehicle, and after...
  12. Why do you back in when parking?

    Hahahahaha I'm dying! ?
  13. Why do you back in when parking?

Out of habit as a retired LEO. But... ...it does give you much better visibility for getting out of a spot, especially where cross traffic is a concerned. Plus, when walking back to your vehicle, it gives a much better view to appreciate your car or truck! :D ETA: Case in point - damn my...
  14. Gun Related Pictures and Chat

I'm sllllooooowwwwwwwww (been busy!) Here is how I learned to rust blue a gun the slow way: It's a process, but simple!
  15. Gun Related Pictures and Chat

Practice on something maybe. Also, I will post up the video (later) I learned through process from.
  16. Gun Related Pictures and Chat

I forgot to post on Monday that I assembled the revolver! From this... To this... And next to the .357 project I scored for $67 and put together!
  17. Gun Related Pictures and Chat

I worked on a home bluing project, the slow way. Rusting agent: 3/4 tsp non-iodized salt 1tbs white vinegar 4 tbs hydrogen peroxide Completely degrease your parts (brake cleaner) and then wipe a coating of the rusting agent evenly on the metal. It'll quickly form red oxide. Drop the red rusty...
  18. Battery swap and truck memory

It's actually not stupid at all when you think of CAFE laws (which one can possibly argue are stupid). By making Rangers with auto stop/start, along with other fuel efficient vehicles, they can hit their Corporate Average Fuel Economy numbers, and they can keep manufacturing V8 trucks and cars...
  19. What did you do to your Ranger today?

I work from home and haven't been driving my truck; it's been very neglected. It's been parked under some palm trees near the carriage lights on my garage, and as a result it was covered in dead bugs, bird poop, and junk from the trees. The roof and hood were also growing mildew. Today i detail...
