  1. Top of Simmons Rest peak. Short ride up in Trinidad, CO.

We were set to spend a week in Creede and a week in Durango with a week left over for whatever. Hope to go back and finish out 2 weeks when the forester is ready.
  2. Top of Simmons Rest peak. Short ride up in Trinidad, CO.

Yeah, I've pulled fivers and driven class c with a toad several times. Never enjoyed it but always made it. I think I'm done with it.
  3. Top of Simmons Rest peak. Short ride up in Trinidad, CO.

Mororhome breakdown (severe limp mode, no throttle) on Ratan Pass, I-25. Towed to shop in Trinidad, who couldn't fix it after day and a half, then towed on to Pueblo. So we had time to kill.
  4. Buyers remorse? MPG

Towing what? With my Tundra I towed a 5000lb travel trailer, 8000lb fifth wheel and a 7000lb fifth wheel. The best I got was 9mpg with the travel trailer. I seems with a gaser you can expect mpgs to be half the norm mpg when towing a camper. The wind is the enemy. Now, towing a bass boat or...
  5. Colorado/Canyon cap on Ranger

Not a cap but my brother in law gave me the roll up bed cover from his Chevy Colorado and the width was perfect for my 21 ranger lariat but the rails were 11" too long. Trimmed em down and got a good fit. I have the 5foot bed.

I put the redarc liberty on my 21 lariat. The only hard part was finding the 4 wires way up under the dash.
  13. Question, purely for intellectual curiosity... hitch weight vs UVW towing.

No. The 500 lb hitch weight will take away from your cargo capacity (the amount of weight your truck can Carry). The 5000 lb trailer weight will be taken from your truck towing capacity *the weight your truck can Pull.) You will usually run out of cargo capacity before towing capacity, but not...
  14. small tip when a load is sagging your trucks rear

I had to lower my beams as soon as I bought my 21 lariat with leveling kit. High beams were coon hunting.
  15. Invisibrake 8700 install

Nope. Invisibrake is electric and is used when the truck is towed by a motorhome. TBC is for when the truck is towing a trailer with electric brakes. It can be confusing.
  16. 6464 miles towing 7200lb TT

Hey man. I have a 21 ranger lariatvthat we pull behind a class c. But in my previous turn dra towing g 5th wheels I discovered a way to manual uoshift after going downhill. Just turn tow haul off for a second, let it up shift then turn towhaul back on. Hope this helps. Thanks for the report on...
  17. How big is too big?

Yes. Total length is important. I was once on a phone call with a sales person and I kept asking the total length and he kept assuring me it was 26'. I knew better so I asked if I'd be able to close the garage door on my 27' garage and he said "oh no." You have to consider the tongue and rear...
  18. How big is too big?

Hey, Flagstaff is a Forest River model so you may find someone in a similar setup on the forest river forem. They may have hands-on experience with range towing. Thus link should be directly to the flagstaff thread. https://www.forestriverforums.com/forums/f33/
