Turns out that on this 2021 ranger lariat the next head bolt actually tilts the vertical angle of the module. Clockwise goes up and counter goes down. Who knew.
Im
Im sending this reader back. Apparently it is inferior amd was part of why it took so long. It frequently lost connection with laptop. Today, windows could not even detect it. Dreaded "no adapter was found" error. A little research shows its not uncommon with these cheapy ones. Ill look back...
SUCCESS!! Did the auto calibrate thing today, drove a few miles and it reset. All codes clear. Adaptive cruuse control is up and pre collision assist is functioning.
Rangerbill and Airline Tech, if ever you are in north Louisiana, holler out. The steaks are on me! You've been exemplary in...
No. I havent added anything to the front except the breakaway switch. It towed fine since July. Ill see if I can mount it farther back. There has always been one there but this one came with the brake system.
And this is the first time i e every gone into the settings. Never modified anything...
No, I bought it in 2023 and its never been messed with. It was 13 months old and had 13,000 miles. Thus is the first issue I've had with it. Wife got rear ended 2 years ago and the rear bumper was replaced. Thats it.
Awesome. Drove it a bit after last scan, in the rain. Error still there so ill get back on it in the AM. Shouldn't be too hard to find the one I need to address.
Odd that its happening now. Towed many 1000 miles behind a Class C and now a Class A. Never a problem. No front collisions. Only...
Well duh. I just noticed the unit moving up and down as I turned the setting screw. I remember one of the codes mentioned something about sensors, right side. Ill check that next.
Here's what I have to work with. No flat surface on front. Gonna get a small level like the one in the pic and fiddle with it. One turn at a time I guess.
Looks like this newest scan verifies the alignment issue? My levels are all too large. Cant really see how to use even a smal one there. The front cover is terraced. The cover cant be open without removing the module from the pegs, and nothing behind the box. Ill figure it out.
Thats my next job. Resting up a bit.
Just so you all know. Im dealing with newly retired (at home now) wife, both our moms in nursing homes, ac problem on rv and multiple doc apps, some from recent prostate cancer and another with macular hole in retina. A bit distracted. But persevering.
Once again, thanks. This is frying my brain and im afraid i bit off too much. In my younger days I could pick it up quickly. Not anymore.
Ill report back later.
I tugged up and down trying to change the angle of the box. it didnt move except to come off the 4 pegs its mount on. the hex head tension bolt doesnt loosen, it only spins. ill try to remove the box and see if i can get a backup wrench on it.
I'm beginning to wonder if it might just be a weak battery. doesnt go dead and i havent had to jump it since it went dead while towing in kentucky a couple weeks ago. But several codes mentioned power low.
