We got the first cold snap in my area and I figured the auto setting on the climate control would do its thing set on 76. After about 20 minutes, I just gave up and increased the temp setting to HI which is 85 if I saw it correctly. Once I did that, it actually sped up the fan and started...
Got an alert on my Ford app yesterday and today that my 2021 ranger was shutting off remote features to conserve battery. I went to use the keyless remote and it worked. Got to checking and it seems to be stuck in a loop trying to check for and download an update. Wonder if Ford outsourced...
The farmer answer is to load it up till the axle touches the bump stops/jounce bumpers then add a smidge more. The legal answer is to see what the door jamb sticker says.
I read a gew things into this post. First, find a new service shop because it reads as if you have been there a lot lately and just now getting somewhere. Second, labor rates and parts costs may be driving them to suggest a replacement long block ( block and head assembly). Third, sounds...
From what I'm seeing, I don't believe Ford leveraged the IMRC (intake manifold runner control) valves in the 2.3 ecoboost intake runners. That likely leaves mechanical noise from the HPFP as the most likely suspect for the noise.
On the topic of ping though, does the Ranger have the variable intake runner flaps? I know prior generation Ranger 4 cylinder engines had that and they made noise similar to pinging after some miles as they fluttered in the intake runners at certain rpm's.
I occasionally hear a noise that is...
Mine has always randomly performed the turbo actuator self check. I have been in the garage before, without my keys, and it just wakes up to self check randomly then goes back to sleep.
I finally got a chance to test drive a manual Bronco a few months ago. The first to second shift was smooth if you slow shifted it, but everything after that was buttery smooth. I am on a wait list for a 2024 Bronco Badlands with the manual transmission. So far, Ford has politely denied...
Not sure how much tread you have left on the other three, but I've always replaced in pairs unless the other tires were almost new. Basically, if I had one bad front tire, I ended up with two new front tires.
It varies based on a lot of factors. For me, 95% of the time, I average around 21mpg +/- 1mpg per tank manually calculated driving country back roads for trips less than 10 miles. I had a few long interstate trips a couple weeks ago about 180 miles each way. Speed limits varied between 55 and...
It was weird. Both the model 3 and Y drove smoothly. The silence of the powertrain would take getting used to. Reminded me a lot of a Camry hybrid but felt much heavier. Handled deceptively well considering the curb weight, but the battery location keeps the center of gravity low.
? I didn't quiz the rep at my Tesla test drive appointment. He just said that I could qualify for up to $8k off and that I should look at the website if I chose to persue a purchase. He may have rolled the tax credit in on that amount, no idea? Given one could qualify for the $7500 tax...
Lots of incentives on the EV's currently aside from the tax credit. Local ford dealer had several Mach-e's on lot so I decided to look them over. They said Ford was offering 0% for 60mths and $7500 off and then the tax credit if you qualified. Local Tesla dealer had several Model 3's and Y's...
Look around to see if any critters have chewed on anything under the truck. Evap system leaks have been sources of fuel odor I have found in other vehicles in the past. They usually set a check engine light code though.
