Oh really? The lines coming to the lower one look like they are the same as the A/C lines inside the engine compartment. The ones going to the rear heat exchanger looked more like coolant lines. It's entirely possible I'm completely wrong, though.
No, it was only on the driver's side. If I...
There is 1 bolt that the shop manual says should be discarded and replaced with a new one. It's the bolt that holds the steering column linkage together, and I did get a new one to replace it. Ford won't sell you just 1 though, as they come in a pack of 4 - but a bag of 4 is still pretty cheap...
I completed the job of replacing my heater box this past weekend. Earlier in this thread someone (@airline tech ?) asked for a video showing the operation of the blend doors - once I had my old one out, I removed the motors from it and shot this video:
A few tips for anyone who attempts this...
I did not have any problems at all with my spacers and the Hankooks. Just didn't need them any more when I went to the MT's. Get a good quality spacer though - I went with these, and they are excellent quality.
Yes, I wound up with about 1" higher total truck height, which I consider a good thing. The MT's have a thicker sidewall design (the sidewalls protrude out farther than the Hankooks) so with the wheel spacers installed the MTs stuck out too far for my tastes. The spacers also caused the MTs to...
I'm interested in trying the global springs, but can't find a good source for them. Digging around on eBay just shows a bunch of recyclers selling them onesie-twosies. I'd be ok with used springs, but would prefer new ones... is there a source for OEM Ford global parts that won't absolutely kill...
My new heater box arrived yesterday. I'm tied up this weekend with other projects, but am planning to do this replacement next weekend. I took a bunch of photos of the new box last night. It arrived with actuators installed, and all the doors at pre-set positions. I cannot manually change the...
Not sure if OP has picked up new rubber yet, but I installed the MT Baja Boss in 265/65/18 (I have a leveling kit installed) over a year ago, and LOVE them: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/mickey-thompson-baja-boss-a-t-vs-falken-wildpeak-at3w.21141/post-474749
I'm considering an upgrade to the rear springs on my Ranger, and wonder if anyone can chime in with their experience. I have a 2019 FX4 Lariat, and have already swapped out the front coilovers and rear shocks with Eibachs, which provided a huge improvement to handling - especially off road. I've...
Whoo boy! Another tire thread. :)
It's probably a more aggressive off-road tire than you are looking for, but I went with the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss in a 265/65/18. I also only have a leveling kit installed.
I did a full write-up with before/after photos etc in this thread...
That's also the part I ordered yesterday. I shopped all around the internet to see who had the best price + shipping. Ordered from FordPartsGiant, all in came to just under $225.
Correct - I did NOT want that cleaner going through the turbo. Also note that I inserted the straw past the mass air flow sensor that is in that pipe - you REALLY don't want to get this cleaner all over that sensor, either.
Good luck!
I'll be glad to try to get video / photos of various components, though I likely won't do a full "how-to" video - I simply won't have time to film at that level of detail while working.
This is incredibly good news! I'm ordering the blend door box today.
A few questions:
1) Did you need to order any other extra parts? Are there any "while you're in there" things you did or wish you did?
2) How long did the whole job take? I'm planning to set aside a whole weekend to do mine...
