  1. Stellantis Stock Collapses As Jeep Maker Takes $26 Billion Hit In Latest EV Pivot

Yeah, the busses. It started with a recall of batteries, not done yet, and need 45* to charge them. It won't be 45* around here for a few months.
  2. Stellantis Stock Collapses As Jeep Maker Takes $26 Billion Hit In Latest EV Pivot

Worthless, unless you clear snow like I did. Production was reduced to 25-30%. better than nothing though. I get not everyone wants to clear their roof. Mine was a PIA, but I like money more.
  3. Stellantis Stock Collapses As Jeep Maker Takes $26 Billion Hit In Latest EV Pivot

True on re-roofing. Our installer wouldn't install on a roof older than 5 years. But, I can't see a reroof under those conditions, as the roof blocks the biggest abuse, the sun. Ours came with a 20 year no leak guarantee.

I'm not sure why net metering is going away, or not utilized to begin with. With everything computerized, how much expense is there to net metering? In CT, I'd need 6k banked to feel good about getting through winter. Some states even have goals to reach a % of alternative sources by a certain...
  5. Alignment on leveled Ranger

Stock tires in summer, 255/65R/17 and winter 255/70R/17 Like I said, no issues, just gearing up with info in case I do. I do not align any of my vehicles unless I see wear. Aside from when it was leveled, I've gone through multiple sets of tires. Money saved from not doing yearly alignments...
  6. Alignment on leveled Ranger

Thanks. years ago, I read on this forum there are different specs, but I can't find that thread. I've had zero wear or issues, aside from the "can't see with naked eye" issue. I can let the wheel go on highway, pour myself a cocktail, search for something under rear seat, arrange coins in...
  7. Alignment on leveled Ranger

So, I've had my truck leveled, at dealership some 50k ago with no issues. The dealership tried to align and said they couldn't, so sent it to a local 4x4 shop. Fast forward to today, dealership is telling me I need alignment. I ask if they are capable of aligning a leveled truck, they assure me...
  8. Plug removal

I'm 64 now, I don't bend like I used to, recover like I used to, which is why I looked into having a dealer install. That goes against my very being, but sometimes you have to accept your limitations. I'm tall, with back pain issues stemming from my years of bent over hoods etc. Do I really want...
  9. Plug removal

I've never damaged anything by changing spark plugs, and I've changed hundreds. Maybe the threads on here about seizing have gotten in my head. From what I read, me breaking a plug off while changing may lead to warranty denial. Don't have a lot of trust for local dealerships around here. And...
  10. Plug removal

I'm looking to replace my spark plugs. During then first 15k, I'd wash down the motor on occasion. After reading all the issues of water seized plugs, (funny, none as of late)and the nightmares that follow, I figured I just have the dealer do it. I'm at 59K, so if anything goes south, warranty...
  11. Darwin Award Thread

You're right. I remember being surprised the first time I saw it being used as a "pool" .
  12. 93 Octane

    I don't recall ever seeing 93 in VT. I don't use, so I don't pay close attention. 91 is still $3.99
  13. Darwin Award Thread

If's that's legit, he's moving it by hand by the pail load. My money is on it curing in the bed before he can move it all by hand. Even a half filled 5gal bucket has weight to it. Spine, 1" shorter, both arms, 1" longer. Knees don't have a chance.
  14. DOES YOUR TRUCK NOT SIT LEVEL? RIGHT REAR IS HIGHER THAN LEFT REAR

Wouldn't a way to narrow down the issue would be to measure the top of the frame on each side? I would think this would help determine if it was suspension related or bed mounting. As far as being a fuel tank issue, put a person inside on the right to offset the weight. If it doesn't, then not...
  15. Corvette ZR1X hits 60 in 1.68 seconds, 1/4 mile in 8.675 @ 159 mph!

I can appreciate all the the vette has to offer. I drove some in the 80's, but they were never my style, even if I had the cash. Watching Barrett Jackson auction last night, there were plenty of vettes. I enjoyed looking, but it stops there. Same with all the other European super sports cars...
  16. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

-2 and the snow just started up. just waiting on the Pat's game and another win.
  17. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

A buddy of mine has a similar set up, batteries that will run his home for a few days, small gen for recharge when sun not out, and solar panels about to be installed, OK, once snow is gone. And grid can also recharge batteries when up. I might have gone that route if I knew about it.
  18. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

10 gallons per day to run my entire house, electric heat pumps, electric water heater, hardly 100's of gallons. I don't have the low idle for low loads though. I can live with that. I will say a small generator to charge battery system is a better idea, if that battery system can run 15K house...
  19. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

The warmer day is Sunday. I may sleep by fire tonight, so when I wake up to take a piss, I can reload the stove.
  20. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026
