Those are definetly cast steel and hollow. Look closely at the pictures. You can see the rust. I wonder why Ford changed the material. I wonder what else has changed.
Basic 2 piece design:
"Angle setup for two-piece shafts is similar to the one-piece. All three working angles should add up to zero. The easiest way to do this is to mount the front shaft section so it has zero degrees through the joint at the transmission. The rear shaft may then be treated as...
Here is some information on driveshaft phasing. Apparently it is common to clock them in varying
degrees of offset. I know on Volvo trucks the first shaft was 90 degrees out of phase. Many times they came out of the the repair shop after tranny or clutch replacement and the mechanics assembled...
Zone 2 inch level, Bilstein rear shocks, 285/70r17 Duratracs, 1/4 inch front wheel spacers.
Sits at a perfect stance with no rubbing. I just spread the crash bars as far as they would move.
Full size spare fits as well.
Does your truck have a spacer under one leaf pack ?
I am curious as to whether the factory leaf packs are the same height when set on the shop floor, side by side, in a upside down manner.
Or does the spacer make them level ? This will be telling us if the spacers make up for leaf spring...
THANKS for the reply.
Now it begs the question: Are the OME springs of equal arch/ride height or is Ford's frames/front suspension causing the lean ?
Hopefully someone orders the 1200# springs and can take similar measurements. I don't think the weight of fuel will make a difference.
I want to...
Did you use any of the factory shims/spacers under the leaf pack ? Does it sit level now ?
I know there is quite a variance in factory leaf packs and "the lean".
Rear wheel well measurement requested.
