Makes a big difference with the right tire: 265 75 16 Gooodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT did the trick for me everything else being equal. In my experience the same diameter tire with a 1" smaller wheel has produced noticeable positive results when well mated with the tire. One exception might be...
I am much less worried about it. Good guidance suggested by @Pioneer74 .
Getting the 16's and the taller sidewalls in tire that suits my needs made me feel like this is the truck i wanted. Maybe not the value of other mid size offerings but definitely a better truck for me now that I have...
Dearborn is there a problem?
The oem16" wheel put on today to gain some sidewall to compensate for the rough ride. Went to put on the center caps bought from a fellow Ranger 5G er that arrived today and what do I see. 17" on the passenger and 18" on the driver.
I took my Ranger up to the dealership to get them to set the odometer up correctly for the 1.5" circumference increase with my aftermarket tires. They said that they did not know how yet. Said they will eventually get a tool may take a year or more.
Said I should look for a after market method...
The Ranger would have provided more confidence on some of the more questionable trails requiring 4x4 up there in the mountains. Will just keep taking the wife's Canyon no complaints on access, and ride quality on the 6 hr one way trip is a premium.
First full tank back on original wheels and tires with couple of highway trips maybe.4 of tank, hand calculated 26.5 mpg.
So i cannot complain about that.
