Construction along morning commute is complete. Taking the dirt back roads anyway. That makes me want to smile. Granted that i$ w/ after market shocks and sidewall increases via smaller oem wheel$ and larger tire$ sans lift.
Does anyone know the weights for the oem wheels?
Specifically I am trying to figure the difference in weight between the 16" steel wheels vs the 17" Sport pkg aluminum wheels that come with the XLT.
Thanks.
My truck has a sag on the back of the cab driver side. Dealer tinted my windows upon showing it to them was not really looking for that and will change it to ceramic at some point anyway. I just figured I did not want them trying to fix it due to location and difficulty involved with blending...
It is not difficult to document mileage at: tire purchase mounting and balance, and mileage at re calibration adjusting to new size, obviously the importance of that documentation increases with the larger diameter increases.
"I have great confidence in the 4x4 capabilities of my Ranger, and can tell already that it will be considerably better than my trade in was in that regard. I will get her out there and have a little fun, but 16" wheels and significantly taller sidewalls are on tap first. Tires are here oem 16's...
I set up a qualitative test: Does ride comfort improve with a taller sidewall specifically 265 75 16; all other things being equal? The answer is yes. Therefore it is not a theory or opinion; it is a fact.
Good to hear as an option with some good ongoing functionality. Forscan is not playing well with my windows 8. Not wanting another pc device or new phone at this point in time.
I will look into it further. Thank you.
Sidewall height has been proven to be be relevant in my actual experience. After upgrading my front and rear shocks I put the original wheels and tires back on the truck and drove it for several weeks specifically to test them with the new shocks. After that testing I increased the sidewall...
I have been successful with a 265 75 16
On the oem 16" wheels without modifications.

I can only recommend the Goodyear Wrangler Trail Runner AT. With that much of an increase in sidewall height it is important to get a tire that works well with the...
I am convinced that it should not take after market shocks and added compensation via sidewall height increase in order to get an acceptable ride quality from a 2019 vehicle. Based on my experience as a truck owner specifically a Ranger owner for several decades, and using a small variety truck...

I am not familiar with tuners nor do i want a tune. Is it possible to use the nGauge interface to change the tire size without purchasing a tune?
Thanks.
The original tires that I tried actually had more sidewall give than I liked. I did not like the handling (comfort was outstanding). The new tire has a thicker sidewall yet actually weighs less. it is prefect for this application, 1.5" sidewall increase for comfort that provides enhanced ride...
I really enjoy the history and background in applied theory and design that you have provide based on your actual experience. I recall seeing a comment that I chalked up to the other person not knowing your background. Some of your general comments just describing the things that were going on...
