Has anyone had the opportunity to tow a flat deck car hauler with a car on it, about 5000-5500lbs?
I’ve been waiting two months for my tow hitch to arrive, as my truck didn’t come with the tow package, but am anxious to know what to expect.
It’s clearly SN Plus rated on the packaging from what I’ve found.
The debate on whether its Truely not dexos Gen 2 certified, or like the other major oil companies, Pennzoil chose not to spend the money gaining certification for oil that doesn’t sell as much as the regular Platinum. That’s tough...
I’ve decided to go with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. I had positive results with it on my last f150, and when it’s on sale locally, it’s quite cost effective and comes highly recommended for DI engines and to combat LSPI
Yup just installed my brake controller into the truck, simple butt connectors on the wires previously mentioned and away we go. Like an extra 15 mins of work to installed the controller.
Truck did not come equipped with factory tow package either.
I've got one in my truck. Quality is what you'd expect for being a Ford product, and installation was a breeze. I use it to keep tow ropes, shackles, and bungee cords in
Is anyone planning on adding a stand alone boost gauge to their interior?
Please share the style of mount and where it’s mounted. I’ve been trying to decide between a few and can’t decide if I should go with an OBD2 style like the AEM x-series or a mechanical style like an auto meter.
Are people holding out for a bolt-on catch can design, or would offerings like mishimoto’s universal one be sufficient?
Because Who knows when a company is going to offer a direct bolt-on catch can..
Has anyone without the trailer tow package been able to confirm that the truck is still prewired with these same wires to connect a brake controller?
My truck will be arriving without a "tow package" but the dealer will be installing the OEM harness and hitch, I'm mostly curious how in depth...
I'll be getting an intake for it as soon as one is available. I've been checking out OBD2 boost gauges, like the AEM x-series, but may end up just going with a traditional gauge that compliments the interior. After that, offroad worthy wheels and tires.
My ranger did not come with the tow package either. Dealer is adding the oem ford hitch and oem 4/7 wiring harness for the same price of the actual towing package.
For some reason very few of the trucks on the lot come equipped with the actual tow package it seems
From my understanding, they only come available with one differential, a Dana 44, front and rear. The only option is either a locking or open differential.
