There was a UPS truck crash east of Roswell, NM a few days ago. No video, but the drive blamed the crash on the heavy rain-fall. Truth is, he was texting or so the NMSP ascertained, after looking at his cellphone. When will they ever learn?
I sometimes think I could supply all of the needed video for a YouTube channel. And I don't drive that much! (Less than 7K after 14 months of ownership.)
Just this morning, on my way to the grocery, a BMW driver (Who else?) did the dirty-pants dance, before smacking the back of a trash smash. I...
Just to make sure, I plugged it in, and went through every menu! No Livernois anywhere. Reread all of the documentation which came with the unit, and nothing about Livernois appears. I called my Ford Performance Parts Technical Support Group contact. He said Ford's tune was not done by...
Interesting. I have a ProCal programmer, and NO PLACE does it say Livernois, or even Ford, save for the protective rubber coverall. Neither does the documentation which came with it.
I don't know why no one has figured the holes out! They're for attaching a tonneau cover. How do I know? Because I bought one, and installed it myself!
If you use the unit out of the FX2 or FX4, all you need is to run some power to it. I actually found what I wanted in a wrecking yard in Alabama. The nut case wanted more money (no fright included), than I can buy a new one from my local dealer!
And speaking of Ford's better idea....
The issue...
I fought them in a different way, perhaps.
I didn't buy another Honda due to a specific issue around spark plug temperature ratings. I chose not to fight them, but to buy a different brand vehicle. In short, Honda actually listened, and changed their specifications to include upgrading spark...
Ford's Performance tune is COVERED under warranty, if a Ford dealer did the work. I was lucky, in that a Ford rep did mine. The others out there have some sort of warranty, but what it covers is hard to define.
Things like exhausts systems, and cold air intakes, fall under the Magnuson Act.
Here's the leader in the field: https://www.vmacair.com/product/underhood-air-compressors/
I can't say they have one specific for the Ranger, but I wouldn't doubt it.
There is more here than meets the eye. One issue drivetrain engineers consider is heat soak. If the air intake were make of aluminum instead of plastic... Well, you get the idea. We assume, therefore, that Roush et. el. have also considered heat soak into their selected location for the...
There is another factor related to the temperature.
Gasoline refiners often change the Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) to match the seasonal environmental conditions, as required by the EPA (CAA standards). While this does not effect the incoming air temperature, it indeed changes what goes on during...
Mishimoto. I was going to use their intercooler too, but the piping connections don't match up. The one I ended up using, is a custom from a local Honda-esque speed shop. Cheaper too.
The only real way to tell if a specific addition added HO or TQ, is to test each one on a dyno WITHOUT changing anything else. This said, things get complicated when multiple items are added. Nonetheless, the bottom line is often greater than the sum of the parts! Example...
I can tell you...
Isaac is probably correct. Finding the correct size hose clamps (actually clips of a sort), isn't easy. I bought millimeter ones on Amazon. I think I bought about 25 for the same price as a couple of incorrect sized ones from Ace Hardware.
For example, if the tubing is 1/4 OD, the correct size...
