Okay so I am back here in this thread and wanted to ask about possible rattling.
I first figured out that the arm for the cell phone likes to be base-mounted as far back as possible - I think. I do get a slightly noticeable rattle from the tray. I know that part of it is from some of the...
Again the waffle pattern on the fan shroud was awesome in how it tried to bleed me.
As stated go at them from the bottom. Also give a GOOD look around your harmonic balancer seal - if its weeping it can eventually mess up your crank angle sensor. That seal was fun to change and a bugger to get...
Yep. Put mine on a few weeks ago and found that if you over-tighten the four base fasteners it will distort the tray just enough to bring out the f-bombs :(
D
So apologies to everyone I guess I made upset by assuming it was the O2 :D
it would appear this is the Catalyst monitor sensor (#2).
<Disclaimer - there is no animosity in this post...please don't think so>
So the app and PIDs are great. Been playing with the other stock ones and found what may be a possible pyrometer? :D Sensor pulling off the catalytic converter / o2 sensor.
We have an FSA - flexible spending account- for medical stuff through our company. Gotta use it or loose it. So one purchase was an updated first aid kit. And it fits like a champ 😀
So seeing this I decided to hit up Torrie. He stated that generally he does not suggest using his tune in any kind of towing - however my little trailer and King Quad (about 1800 lbs total - trailer and ATV) shouldn't be an issue.
I don't haul anything heavier than that. And if I did I would...
So per Torrie the adaptive elves are still at work in the transmission module.
This tells me there is great merit in paying attention to how the transmission shifts and when it starts acting poorly - reflash to factory and drive for a few miles then flash back to awesomeness and enjoy.
D
So a brief update - I was VERY afraid that it would do something crazy like revert back to craziness or something.
So far it has been awesome.
One question on the tunes - and perhaps this should go to Unleashed but figured I'd ask this group first. These trucks have the "adaptive shift". I...
So tune installed.
Good LAWD I am angry...I waited this long. :/
Got it uploaded and drove from work to home...about a 35 mile drive and I have a "new" truck.
Transmission shifts awesome now. Acceleration is better and feels alot more peppy.
All in all awesome piece of kit and glad I got...
As has been stated here Torrie apparently lives on or near his phone and responds in a flash :)
I'm going with Unleashed and already have the tuner out and on the way. With the holidays here it won't be here til next week but so far I like what I see.
Thank you all for the advice. I'm sure...
So I already use 93 exclusively so that isn't a worry.
And again I'm not really interested in the higher performance I just want to get the most out of this second transmission as far as longevity and I figure that would be possibly through working toward making the shifts more normal and not...
Hello all
Finally going to take the step and get a tuner for old Blue.
I am looking primarily for transmission shifting adjustment - say like the Livernois soft shift? Would I have to add that or is that their tow tune? Is there another brand?
Second since I'm not running stock tires I've...
Okay so recently I was informed by the dealer during an oil change that the crankshaft/harmonic balancer pulley seal was leaking. I just happened to find THIS THREAD IN HERE and inquired about what all was needed. After a few responses I went to the factory service manual and started...
Hey all,
Ran across this thread and wanted to ask if anyone has tried to do this on their own yet? I just got my oil changed and the stealer said leaky front crank seal -
I have seen worse but with that angle sensor there it makes me a bit nervous.
