So I'll start of with my background a bit. I'm one that doesn't conform to the norm. I grew up with a dad the was obsessed with off roading. And mechanics, I learned at an early age about racing and fabrication, and mechanics. I did shit in school but was always in auto body, and auto. Dropped out got a gig working as a custodian moved up to handyman. Saw a set of welders doing sanitary structural as well as sanitary plumbing. I went asked if I could get a gig that I'd work for free as a chance to learn. They took a chance and hired me right there on spot. Every day I apprenticed to learn more I eventually became a somewhat fitter. Got bored it was a heavy lifestyle I was working sometime 90hr weeks took a get passed first time no studying. Joined military went into the infantry was am 11b I'm no one's hero. Saw a darkside of people and even those I was around shit some may say was a shitbag at the end because I didn't care. If anything I'm honest got married had kids got out. Went back to welding. Bought a house 24 as a single income father. Got hurt cut my thumb off so I got laid of during time I put my gi to good use I went to welding school to get some more welding knowledge and get accredited association. Got a gmaw, tig, and smaw. After went to community College again using gi towards my associates but mainly for my knowledge. Titles and certificates don't matter to me. In not competing with anyone. I love hot rodding taking things learned in other forums say frontier titan swap gets them 13 inches of travel pretty cost effective. Which is relative. I built an f150 with full raptor suspension, I say in suspension and truck I only spent about 3600, building a 280z from ground up. I'm currently a forklift technician. Which involves a ton of electrical troubleshooting and hydrualic troubleshooting. I'm a function over form guy. A pirate that isn't hell bent on showing off name brand stuff. I like old school hot rod mentality of taking something from various forms of factory amd making things work. So after reading this you want to follow what im doing come along for the ride. I'm not the best at anything if I don't know something I'll ask for help or I'll research. I love to cross reference parts.
Now for plans for near future is build taller shock towers to accommodate 2021 2.7l 4 door icon dynamics coilovers. Fabricate a set of fully boxed long travel control arms 4.5 inches wider on each side. 4.5 is the magic number as I plan on later in the future getting a m210 4.70 from dana which would allow me to use bronco long travel axles as well as getting more travel. So far I've found that upper control arm uses atleast for aluminum spindle uses same ball joint taper as chevy 1500. Plan on figuring a budget low cost big brake kit using factory part. So far I'm considering f150 raptor 14 inch brakes. Although I still need a few measurements to ensure what I'm going to do works. For rear I plan on buying a set of chevy 1500 63 inch leaf springs. Yes I've measure and done math. I know how to read the arch and center. In reality I only have to move hanger about 3 inches back. Currently running 2019 f150 2.7 rear shocks. I will continue to use as it works with the my numbers. Also dampening seems to be stiffer which helps at high speed off road. This is going to be a slow build as I have other projects and money constraints. I'm 34 years old dad of 2 daughters no sponsors no fame just a garage junkie/ pirate. I'll post pics of my past build experiences. Below is a resume of my past lol. So if this catches your attention follow along. I added the flooring install to show I enjoying building period. I want to find a solution for those that don't have all the money in the world and don't care about the novelty that comes with having high end parts, but still able to achieve similar results. Let me know if I should start a youtube channel to document.
