HA! better change you handle to Kramer or you know what!

I don't think the prudes in Hawaii's DMV will allow that plate...

Hawaii DMV does, and they charge $30 extra for it, all it consists of is a bogus "Hawaii Firefighter" sticker attached to the left side of the plate, which can easily be stolen.
This plate has nothing to do with IAFF (I'm local 1463) and can be purchased by anyone who pays the $30 fee.
I'm envious of your plates, the union endorsement looks to be embossed on the plate, not a bogus sticker.
A call to my union's local office said they are working on the details for the plate, something they have been saying for the past 30 years.
I retired 1 1/2 years ago, with 28.5 years of service with the Honolulu Fire Department, PM me if you like (or vice-versa), let's trade each other's experiences.

I bought a challenge coin and glued it onto where the cheap ass sticker was. Mine is US Navy.

Beautifully detained coin, sir.
However, it would not last a week here in Honolulu, thieves would steal the whole plate (if not the truck).
Tons and tons of homeless and tweakers here in Honolulu

I was stationed at Barbers Point for three years in the 70s. I lived in Waianae and Makakilo. It wasn’t that way back then.

Boy, will you be in a shock should you return to Honolulu, Makakilo, IMO is a somewhat safe area, but who wants to drive up and down that hill daily?
Anything from Hono Kai Hale on is considered the "Wesside" here, Nanakuli, Ma'ili, Waianae and Makaha where crime and drug use are rampant.
There is a local slang for drug abusers here, "chronics", just last week there was a mid-twenties chronic trying to run from HPD, he actually pushed a cop off a roof in Makaha.
The local newspaper showed a mug shot of him, all smiles and proud of himself, I'd love to see his face after he got booked.
Burglaries, robberies, carjackings and home invasions are common here on Oahu, even in the town area.
Hawaii holds the national record for crystal meth abuse, couple this with an influx of a certain Polynesian group of immigrants (of which both sexes are known to carry knives) and you've got a cocktail for disaster.

When I was there I lived in the condominiums right on the border between Waianae and Nanakuli. Not a good place for a blue haired blond haired sailor. I had a Filipino wife and either was good or bad depending who you are around. Sure was nice living 100 yds to the water’s edge.
