I'm still upset about the AI driven RAM and SSD price hikes.

All the production is being gobbled up by AI data centers.

I bought a 4TB SSD back in June and it came with a free 32GB stick of DDR5 RAM.

Total cost was $189.

Today, that exact same SSD is $490 and the RAM is $400.

But honestly, I guess I am happy to pay that so that we can all be entertained by AI generated videos of cats flying airplanes and cooking pancakes.
Back in November I bought a liquid cooled I9 system with 64 g of ddr5 and a RTX5080 video card. The video card is now worth more then I paid for the whole system 😲. AI inflation is causing price increases across the line, especially energy costs. AI is scary just like Ranger transmissions 😬.

While all this is 100% spot on the other problem right now is the economy, it sucks! 🤬

People, even those who spend recklessly don't have any extra money because everything from gas, food, insurance, property taxes, utilities and so on are going up now weekly. Heck, I just filled up last Saturday at Costco on our way home from Sedona at $3.89 and today it's up to $4.25 and this is for 87 regular. Then add in that credit card debt is at an all time high, car loans going into delinquency are on the rise and we're teetering on a recession. Fun times!
Add to that margin loan debt is near an all time high around 1.2 TRILLION.

When calls come in the market will have a severe correction.

An AI driven crash will be scary and fast. Crypto is another concern. Meanwhile my dealer has really reduced inventory since this started. All the higher end F150s and Rangers are selling like hotcakes. The XLs and XLTs seem to be sitting. $97k F150s with a $8k discount appears to be working and attracting bargain hunters. Kind of shows we have 2 distinct economies at this point.
My best guess is it will be like the Dot Com bubble and take down a lot of people with it. Maybe not as severe but I think it'll crash pretty hard. I was young during that and lost a good chunk of (on paper) money and wont be doing the same this time. I hate AI and think it's only making people dumber because now they don't even look anything up and rely on AI for all their info.

This is probably just a marketing ploy. But I have 2500 private cash offer on f150 and have a college rebate use. If I had a get an truck tomorrow if something happened I’d probably get a Silverado or ram

Hence the so called "K" shaped economy, and it's very true. But for those predicting a possible recession - perhaps but in May we get a new Fed Chairperson, historically lower interest rates have a way of stimulating the economy - albeit with longer term ramifications, but who gives a rat's *ss about the longer term anyways. Kick that can down the road once again........

@Dr. Zaius @Fordup - last fall I splurged on SD cards in preparation for the LVGP Formula 1 photo shoot. Lexar Silver 256gb 1667Pro SD cards for $50 each. I got $400 worth - 8 cards. I remember feeling like I didn't need that many but the price was great.

Today - they're selling the same card for $120. It's a madhouse.

I still wonder how those that paid $20K-$30K OVER msrp for their Broncos feel now. lol

Usually these are the same people who make a lifetime of poor choices and then tell everyone life screwed them, poor me and that they'll never be able to retire. 🤦‍♂️
I'm seeing used broncos populate car lots almost as fast as jeep wranglers and gladiators around here.
I guess the HOA folks are realizing these overpriced vehicles aren't the best for grocery runs and T ball games.

RR - the 6G forum is almost all RR talk with what looks like one member actually off roading his.
Ranger Raptor prices make the Colorado ZR2 a bargain.

You're telling me, I'm self employed building workstation computers. A system I sold in January where the 768GB of RAM cost $7200, today it cost $32k which is more than the whole system cost in January. When I submit an updated quote tomorrow I will see if they have a heart attack or buy another one.

Somehow I am staying busy but I can't help but wonder how the rest of the year ends up.

With it being a gaming laptop, the RAM and SSD in it might be worth what you paid for the computer 😁

Depending on the make and model, you might be able to still sell at a decent price. Offerup and Facebook marketplace seem to be the spot for that kind of stuff.

Car loans underwater, mortgages underwater, and at the moment, the Canadiens look like they’re underwater. :(
Well at least they can drink away their sorrows with all that nice cold Canadian beer! 🍻 🇨🇦

Yeah, I need to sell this laptop. It's an acer and one thing I had to have was an upgradable machine. I'm leery of selling it online due to possible damage from shipping. I know they get sent through the mail all the time. But apple and dell and whoever would eat the cost of a damaged machine.
Back on topic, this employee pricing. It just seems like a scam to me. ^g group is talking about this and from what I've read Ford removes all incentives with this program.

The Maverick Tremor I was looking at went up $5k on May 1st when the April incentives went away and Employee Pricing came around.

And amazingly, it sold quickly at that $5k higher price.

Employee Pricing appeared on Friday, it was gone from the dealer website Saturday evening.
