You're right that's the problem though just look at (most, not all) the parents and you can see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Many are just as bad if not worse than their kids now. Man, when we went out somewhere and started acting up all my mom or dad had to do was give me that look and we stopped dead in our tracks! 🤨 My mom is Italian and while she's the nicest person you'll ever meet she won't take any crap either. lol I always knew when she was serious because out came the wooden spoon. As much as we hated it back then and thought they were the meanest people they shaped us into who we are today and I'm grateful for it! Looking back I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

We use to set up a ramp in the neighborhood with a log and an old board and jump over our friends. o_O I ended up breaking the front forks off of mine going for the longest distance. :( The good thing is I didn't land on anyone. lol

But were you this cool:question:😂

I think back & wonder how many (valuable now) sports cards were destroyed. Back when there was no handicap ramps I broke my front fork learning how not to jump curbs. was a long walk home. :headbang:

Good point, I never thought about that. We use to get all those sports card in the bubble gum and never thought anything about it back then. When I broke my forks I was petrified to go back home. I hid my bike in the back of my friend's shed for a week until one day my dad asked where it was. He wasn't as mad as I thought he'd be but did make me work my butt off doing yard work to pay for it. As it should be but back then I didn't think so. lol

I feel bad for those still without power in these sub zero temps.

20% of Davidson County (Nashville) without power. Tonight will be about 15F there. Saturday morning only 8-9F so they better get the power back for then.

In LA/MS the population density is lower but power outages are still widespread, so that means you're less likely to have a friend or relative with power...

Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA) is at 42% without power, and 27F tonight and 18F Saturday morning.

55% without power in Lafayette County, MS (Oxford) with a 17F low tonight and 12F low Saturday morning. Some other counties in MS are still at 85-90%+ outages such as Tippah County.

Wow, look how far the 540 thickness lines goes. The higher the number the warmer it is and FL is rarely this low, especially southern Florida. There's a very slights chance (20%) of flurries in the Tampa area too.

Looks like Miami might actually break that record low this weekend. Better dress warm doc @Doc 🥶

What's even crazier is that there's even a slight chance snow in the Bahamas. 😱

It's looking less and less likely we'll see much snow if any where I am. But I'm not making weekend plans yet.

We're getting a couple inches of lake snow again today and temps are headed down. 20 below windchills tomorrow morning. Went to Rochester this morning and I don't have a black truck anymore 😁. All those darn crash sensors were going crazy covered with slush every time we slowed down. Winter finally arrived. Nap time.

We bought our son a Huffy banana bike for his birthday . We'll it lasted a day and a ER visit. He and a friend decided to cut the forks off another old bike then remove the front wheel and beat them on with a baseball bat. Finally used some of my electrical tape to keep them together and put the front wheel back at the end of it all. I had a loading dock built into the hill near our barn Nice wood deck on a 3ft tall retaining wall. In their minds it was a good ramp to try their creation on. One jump was all it took to split the forks open, break the frame welds and twist the whole thing. Plus as a bonus he got an arm cast and became the class hero according to all that signed it. Wish was there to stop them, but really wish I had a video of it to show the grandkidswhat not to do.

Sometimes that's the only way we'll learn. And for some of us, it takes a little longer.

Like this electrical plug guards they have out now so kids don't stick their fingers in the outlet. If we had those I'd have ripped it right off and still stuck my finger in there. lol. But all it took was one time (ok, may 3-4 🤦‍♂️) times doing this to learn to never do it again.

I learned with a knife that there was a 50/50 chance of being zapped. One knife in didn't do anything, 2 knifes in (1 in each side) and I wound up flying across the room with my older sister laughing while saying "I told you not to try that" Only tried that trick once. My dad always said if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger as he beat my butt. I still say that experience is the best teacher.
