2020 Ranger Tailgate - non-magnetic???

Weird story, I bought a bumper sticker sized magnet that sticks to the doors, side of the bed, but NOT to the tailgate? Is my 2020 tailgate skinned in something other than steel?

They are aluminum. That's why they are so light. A welcome change from my previous truck: F250 where the tailgate was a clean and jerk to get it lifted up and latched.

Thanks, just tested multiple surfaces with the neodymium magnets on my LED work light. Funny, I spent a bunch of time cleaning a spot on the tailgate first.
