Am trying to determine what this hose is called from the Degas bottle. Some sort of coolant return/overflow hose guessing but cant locate a diagram unless the hose is ONLY sold as a whole assembly attached to everything else......part number seems to be kb3g-8a365-ag.....?

Also - there is some hard object inside this hose around where the lettering/part number is located.......any idea what that hard object is...a filter?? Is that object supposed to be there?

I think it's the overflow hose from the radiator. P/N has been superseded by KB3Z-8A365-A

Get it here: Original Hose Overflow KB3Z-8A365-A | Levittown Ford Parts

The only diagram I could find is here Radiator/Coolant Overflow Container.. Ford Ranger | DK Ford Sales Ltd, Leduc AB, but that's a Canadian site.

Hose Rad Supply. Hose - Overflow.

Part Number: KB3Z-8A365-A
Supersession(s): KB3G-8A365-AB; KB3G-8A365-AC; KB3G-8A365-AD; KB3G-8A365-AE; KB3G-8A365-AF; KB3G-8A365-AG; KB3G8A365AB; KB3G8A365AC; KB3G8A365AD; KB3G8A365AE; KB3G8A365AF; KB3G8A365AG; KB3Z8A365A

Thank you very much - seems this part does not come as just the hose but as a whole assembly. And that is the correct part and diagram is the same as the US version. Appreciate your time -

what you are feeling inside that hose is a flow restrictor
Appreciate this - didnt want to rip the hose open just to look! AND I just finished replacing the turbo and of course had to drain the coolant and refill (def not old school systems here any more) and never paid attention to the hose until I put it back on and was wondering if the coolant vacuum system sucked something in there!! :) I miss the days of a radiator with a cap and a couple of hoses in a truck......thanks again!

I would guess it's a wire coil like "spring" to keep the hose from collapsing once the hot overflow session ends and the system cools down and the overflow is sucked back into the radiator. I don't think (accept at the radiator end) there would be a restrictor... more like a pressure relief valve, if anything, set to 14 to 15 psi. Above 15 (usually) the radiator cap would be the pressure relief. Also, I have not looked at the Ranger, that hose is connected to the radiator neck, just above the radiator cap seat so when the caps sees 15+ psi it opens and the coolant goes to he overflow... saves cost of a second pressure valve... and we know Ford is cheap.

$105 for a Coolant Overflow Hose! Ford is apparently quite proud of that hose.
