It's not just the oil but also the seals you have to take into consideration. There's still quite a bit of movement even on the street that you don't realize. Having a super soft shock that Fox provides makes it very common to have to rebuild at that mileage.
10-20% would you say?

Interesting...Just your rears, why not the front?
i had plans to do the front but the back was where the majority of my issues were. Then after not doing research and due diligence to realize that the fox had to be rebuilt regularly, I switched everything over to Eibach and couldn’t be happier.

I love my Fox 2.0's.

Bilstein will last the longest and not need the rebuilding of the fox. Can get 100k out of a set. I have numerous times. Used to run 5150s all the time. I prefer stiffer because of on road driving manners, it is more responsive. Still takes the large hits off road just fine. Probably the best daily driver truck shock for the price.

5150's are stiffer for sure, but I like them and they offer the best suspension on a budget you can get!

Keep in mind that the Fox shocks require a rebuild every 50k miles for on road driving and less as you get more and more offroad. This requires taking them off and sending them in to be serviced. I am getting close to that window with my 2.5s and starting to think about what I plan to do while shocks are sent off (I stupidly didn't save my original shocks and instead sold them on Marketplace).
Agreed keep the oem set…I’ll be hanging on to my 2.0’s for that exact reason once my 2.5’s are here to install..

(might get the fox 2.0’s rebuilt at some point aswell.)

I went past 50k and I was off roading quite a bit aswell… it’s a recommended interval.. but it really is going to depend on how you beat on the vehicle… FOX Racing off road is obviously way more intense than any off roading I did.. so the shocks went beyond their recommended interval with a 65/35 (on/off road) split?.. but I don’t drive crazy off road (just a few hot runs in total.)
It’s gonna vary from person to person…

I have an FX4 that comes with the upgraded shocks. I replaced that at 12K for an upgrade and to level it a bit. I went with Eibachs and they are better than I expected. Improved handling on the twisty mountain road that I run twice a week and handling over fire roads and pot holes is vastly improved. They are reasonably priced and come with the Eibach Limited Million-Mile Warranty. This is a great article that should help guide you. https://www.shocksurplus.com/blogs/news/leveling-strut-comparison-bilstein-vs-eibach-vs-fox

I believe shock surplus also had one of their guys go from the Fox 2.0 to the eibach kit.. and did a video about it….
Also a good little vid.
