Who's ranger did I buy?

WOW!!!

That's 1000% my old truck! Where did you buy it? I traded it in New Mexico.

Hate to tell you, but I traded it when I drained the trans fluid and found chunks of metal. Big chunks. I'll go back and find pics. Dealer shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do unless there was a noticeable issue with performance that they would need to be able to measure. But sorry dude, trans is literally a ticking timebomb. I was shocked that it never fully failed. Had to get rid of it. Hopefully they fixed it, it was definitely disclosed to them.

You made me look, but I didn't think it was anywhere but AZ for it's life and I thought it was traded in at the dealer I bought it from. Double checked the Carfax when I got home from work and never a mention of new Mexico. Looks like it was traded into the dealer I got it from on the day I got in my accident lol. Which did corroborate the dealers story that the guy who traded it in loved it, but needed something bigger for the family. Luckily, my partner and our dogs fit quite well in the little ranger.

Sadly, someone rear ended my 2020 Ranger STX 4x4 a couple weeks ago and managed to bend the frame and total it. Fortunately, I happened across this beauty of a 2020 XLT FX4 yesterday and made the purchase. I suspected it might have belonged to someone here, until I came across the DeeZee tailgate assist. At that point I KNEW it belonged to someone here.

So I'm just curious, anyone know who this belonged to? Thanks for getting rid of it, I'm looking forward to my new upgraded ride! So far I have noticed the LED light replacements, light switches already installed, FOX 2.0 lift, Go Rhino rock sliders, RTR wheels with Falcon WildPeak A/T's, and the stubby antenna up top. Looking forward to where this truck will take me!

Nope, not mine since its parked out in the company parking lot.....well, at least that's where I left it this morning before I went inside......

Yup, and about 12k less miles. Figured if I had to buy one I'd try to find an upgrade. So far so good!

Not sure if anyone cares, but I was happy to learn that I did indeed but another members renger. Met up with @AZRangerDood the other day to buy some of the parts he took off it so I can put them back on. Excited to have a little insight into the truck and to know it has been well loved!

Hey Chris! I ended up getting new 2025 Honda Dad-mobile err Pilot TrailSport.. ?

It’s no Ranger, but It’s actually pretty nice all things considered.

Not gonna throw rocks at that. It looks comfortable. There comes a time when we have to make those hard dad-mobile choices. I traded a Silverado for a Pontiac minivan once...because, kids.

Jeanie had a 2021 CRV that color that she loved...but it got hit twice and she got twitchy so we got rid of it. She's driving a 2023 Edge now and really likes that too. She feels safe in it so that's all good for me.

Hope all is well with you also. That’s rough to hear about the CRV, but those Ford Edges are nice though.

You’re totally spot on though. Glad to know I’m not the only one that’s had to go through it. Kids come with a lot of stuff!

I haven't been in any newer ones, but the Honda Pilots are super underrated in my opinion.

I have a 2005 that I handed down to my daughter and I used to have an MDX (ex wife has it now, lol).

If you held a gun to my head and made me pick, I'd probably take my 05 Pilot over my 22 Ranger. If Honda made them true 4x4s, they'd be perfect. And if that were the case, I'd probably have a Ridgeline instead of a Ranger.

Totally agree. I think Honda is still making reliable vehicles too. The 3.5 v6 and transmission in this thing has been around for a while.

I really wish they made a body on frame 4x4 like Nissan or Toyota, but the i-vtm4 awd system is supposed to be pretty solid from what I’ve seen and read. It should be plenty capable for what I plan to do with it anyway.

I’ll definitely miss the convenience of a having pickup, but having an optional 3rd row works better for our current situation.
