Ford just called me back, quoted 13k. They have submitted a case to Ford and waiting to hear back on whether or not anything will be covered. Im screwed if not Lol.
Tell them you want a detailed breakdown of costs for the 13K. Then have them explain their quote when you know you can buy the transmission new for $2500-$3000. Max you should pay for a new transmission and labor should be under $4500

Feeling a bit more hopeful now! The Service Director at the dealership spoke with someone high up (I can’t recall his exact title, but he handles Ford’s financial assistance issues). That guy immediately shut down Ford’s initial offer, saying, “Hell no, that’s not all they’re covering,” and promised to fight for me. On top of that, they gave me a free loaner for as long as it takes to sort this out. Fingers crossed for a much bigger discount!

Nice to have a dealer go to bat for you.

It sounds to me Ford is covering the defective hardware and asking owners to cover labor.

Call Ford corporate back and tell em that's fine, after you fix it yourself you're going to talk to local news stations and look for a lawsuit that needs more plaintiffs

Welp ford still said no more percentage will be covered so I am stuck with a 7K bill. Good times. Messed up.
Ask them for a quote on installing a new transmission part #KB3Z7000B . Tell them you want a breakdown showing parts and labor. It shouldn’t be more than $5000 total. If it isn’t find another dealer

I did get them to bring it town to 5,500 on the phone, sadly other dealers around me could not get me in for 2 months, which is insane to me.

Glad they got it further down for you. Ford dealer transmission shops are plenty busy. One to two months is the standard right now. Is the $5500 for a new transmission or repair?

New transmission (which from what they said is the "updated" transmission that doesn't have issues) don't know if that is bs or not.
