My turn for a new transmission, will the new one be better?

Took my 21 ranger in for my transmission today. Dealership is replacing my transmission under warranty. Have the new ones been updated to be a little bit better. Can I expect me when to last longer or about the same. What's everybody elses experience.

New transmissions have updated CDF drum , outer shell and latest valve body configuration. Mine was replaced in July of 2024 and has been flawless. Better than when it was new. No quirks at all as it should be.

Mine feels amazing. Stock one was a shit box from day one. But I was told it was normal operation.

Just curious, how many miles, what do you with it?
Good thing it was under warranty.
I got the TSB done this summer on the transmission, nice & smooth now with 60k miles.
My issue was when slowing down it would feel like someone was hitting from behind.
40k miles to go till BOOM!

I was at 55,000, mi. I had similar issues to you but that hard shift was pretty random. The main issue I had was a really slow sluggish shift between 3rd and 4th which was 100% consistent. It's mainly a commuter with an occasional off-roading but it's pretty rare.

Sounds like the CDF drum bushing shift. Did you hear an odd 3-4 or 3-5 shift noise? Like a whine / fluid sound?

I see what you did there. Any idea when the CDF drums were replaced? I have a '23 and its been shifting fine thus far. Maybe a little lag on very cold days. Obviously there's paranoia but I'm optimistic nonetheless
