We have a nice Shark corded vacuum but really wanted a good cordless one for the new house. There will be no carpet anywhere so I already purchased a couple different sized microfiber dusting mops for quick cleaning. Does anyone here have one that actually works good? Every single review I've read all have the same negative comments like not enough suction or the battery only last for 20-30 minutes max and sometimes less when run on high. These were all different ones from a cheap $100 China brand to the $600 Dyson. There are a few good sales for Black Friday but I can not find one with a half way decent review anywhere. Anyone...Bueller?

We have a refurbished Dyson that works very well. The downside is battery run time.

That seems to be very common with these. Some reviews (on the same vacuum) will say great battery life then you'll get 5 others saying how bad the battery life is. ?‍♂ I try and read through several pages of reviews to see if there's a pattern and the mediocre battery life is a big one on almost all of them. I remember a few years ago Costco had a Dyson that came with 2 batteries but they no longer offer that and it seems like most don't.

All the coordles run with batteries in 10-20Wh range and that's just... crap.

I have an Electrolux coordles and it boasts 2000mAh battery with 7.2 Volts putting it in the middle 14.4Wh range. That gives about 10-20mins on full speed from the vacuum. If they'd put something near the Husqvarna battery range (337Wh) you could run that for 5-6 hours, or triple the power and do 2hrs on it.

But I'd guess the bean counters @ vendors are not in par with the customers.

Btw: My industrial wet/dry vacuum has 2200W and can run for hours :)

That’s exactly what they need!?

Batteries are heavy and big long running Batteries would make the machines too heavy for women and men with damper dystrophy to use ?. We looked for one last year but they all blew the exhaust out on the operator so my wife said no. Would love to find a good one that used my Milwaukee m18 batteries.

Atrophy aside I thought they could at least make a battery that would last close to an hour. If not at least off an option to add 1-2 more batteries in a package deal. The other thing I didn’t like about the Dyson is you have to hold the power button forward the whole time you’re using it. I’m not sure if all theirs are like this but the two I was looking at were and that would get annoying fast.

This one looks like it's new as there's no reviews yet. Nice thing is the sale just started today and runs through the end of the year so I'll keep an eye on this one. The 100 minutes looks like it's running without the dual floor max nozzle whatever that is. lol

From the product details section:"In normal mode without Dual Floor Max Nozzle using one battery"

One good thing about Costco is they take everything back with no questions asked so it might be worth a try without any reviews. Thanks Ed!!

It sounds like some of these adult toys they have now a days have some impressive power as well as very good battery life at least that is what my mother-in-law said that they all have at the nursing home.

Wifey got this one on sale at Walmart for $65 a few days ago , she got it to hit all the rugs around the house and for quickies .
With the beater bar attached, high power is a must on any rug or carpet , but hardwood and tile works great , be nice if you could turn off the beater bar to save battery on flat floors but it stays on ... haven't really timed it yet but it seams ok ?, BUT , the battery takes a good while to charge it seemed like. I leave the crevice tool and wand on it and use it like a little clean up gun...

I WISH she had asked me first because Ryobi makes some nice ones and I have bunches of those batteries and chargers already ...

I notice the Ryobi says "freestanding" and I think the one we have also said that, but it's not once you put the heavy battery in it ... sadly...

I'd like to find one with both a floor and carpet base or at least be able to turn off the beater bar. We won't have any carpet but will have a couple area rugs so it would be nice to have a choice for both.

I didn't know Ryobi made them and I'll have to check them out. I see a few other reviews (for other vacs) that have complained about them not standing up and falling over but that's a minor concern. I'm sure they'll be heavier with those batteries but they should last a lot longer which is what I'm looking for. Plus it'll help pump up these weak damper arms stick I have. :frown: Thanks!

Since we're on the subject of vacuums, thought I'd share my redneck surprise I rigged up for the wifey a few years back...that's in the living room closet and that PVC goes through to the basement where it hooks into a shop vac that is controlled by that wall switch, 35 feet of hose will easily pull up from there and she/me can reach the most of the first floor ? , but the best part is that you can't hear anything but the suction, you can watch TV or talk with no noisey vacuum! We have doggos ? in the house so it's used evey day , she loves it and still gives me credit on it , she doesn't have to see it , hear it, or even empty it as it holds a LOT ... if we had carpet still I would have run the hose that has 110v cable in it to run a power head but it's not really needed here and was quite pricy...
