My only true complaint about the truck is the paper thin sheet metal, it takes a ding way to easily

More than a pet peeve, and not exclusive to the Ranger, but I hate how the cruise control doesn't reset if you go faster than what you initially set it at. Like if you set it at 55, then go up to 60, you have to turn it off and then turn it on again at that higher speed. But it WILL let you reset it if you go slower.

I hope whatever genius came up with that change dies of gonorrhea and rots in hell.

No need to turn it off. All you have to do is press the + and it will go to your new desired speed or simply hit set when you're at 60 and now that's your set speed.

Do you have adaptive cruise? Mine will auto resume soon as I get off throttle. You can also adjust speed up and down with the +/- button on left side of steering wheel. But hitting the brake does cancel cruise control

IIRC you can just press RES to resume your last speed after hitting your brakes. Before the adaptive cruise control I use to just hit the cancel/resume button without using the brakes. :D

Your probably right but I also hardly ever touch the brakes on the highway so it’s never been an issue for me lol

or carry a load that more bulky than heavy...I've had the bed full of "stuff" and it didn't change the ride significantly.
Try loading it with some roof shingles Mike

I heard the same over at the Tacoma Forum about the 3rd GEN, and the paint being too thin as well. Honestley, I find my Lariat paint, and sheet metal better than on the Tacoma. My Tundra was better than both, yet it was a 2003. We can thank the mighty EPA for this.

I ran for a month on 91 and a month on 87. The difference was only in tenths (which could be attributed to temperature differences, honestly) with exactly the same kind of driving. I only used the truck for commuting for two months to measure it. People have been buying into the myth of higher mileage out of higher octane for decades but it's an old wives tale.

Back on topic, I agree that the small tank is annoying. My 2.7TT Crew Cab F-150 would run from Oakland to Palm Springs on one tank with fuel leftover when I got there. That's about 500 miles and I didn't have the larger factory tank. I would've expected the Ranger to do the same but I've managed about 425-435 tops on extended interstate trips. Meh...I can live with it. Just wish it had a couple more gallons or so. Maybe 21.
Having a larger tank would be nice. On my 2018 Tacoma V6 4x4 with a 21.5 tank I would average 370-380miles, my 2003 Tundra V8 4x4 with a 26 Gallon tank would see at best 340 miles. Getting 400-470 with my 18 Gallon Ranger tank is not bad at all.

I'm pretty happy whit my 2019 Ranger - my 2005 Ranger with the 4l V6 only got 250-300 miles on a tank. I'm getting 350-400 on a tank easy with my new Ranger. It would be nice to have a slightly larger tank, but I don't find it to be an issue at all.

No it won't, you hit the + button and it will only speed up one mile at a time. So if you're set at 55, speed up five miles, you either have to hit the + button five times, or hit the RES/CAN button, THEN the + button.

And that last line in my post is probably an Ace Ventura joke.

I agree 100%, I have been nothing short of pleased with my new Ranger. Forums can be tough, a lot of folks like to vent or nit-pick, and it leaves the perception these are uniquie issues, when in fact they are issues seen with almost all vehicles on the road. I still find our Ranger forum 80-90% better than most when it comes to that and hope we all work to keep it that way. Thank you for giving up your time to be a MOD here.

I ended up not making it all the way to 500 since there wasn't a fuel station at that point along our route, so I had to back out early. But doing hand calcs of everything (gallons used vs gallons remaining and mileage so far on that tank), I could've made it, with not much to spare though. I know one guy on here got 530 or so out of his (and 30+mpg) multiple times. I forget who it was though.

That particular trip consisted mainly of smooth, relatively flat, highway (60mph) driving with some small sections of rural towns (35mph) and portions of faster sections (70mph). It's not something everyone can achieve obviously, but since that's how most of our trips go around here, I can benefit from it. The minute you go faster, gun it taking off from a light, or have to climb a steep hill it drops. So again, not achievable for everybody on a regular basis, but it is possible.

My next goal is to actually hit 500 on the miles traveled. Probably won't be able to do it until spring, since winter is coming and that doesn't help mileage.

wow consider me astonished! No matter how softly I drive I get nowhere near that mileage. I would like to try 87 to see the difference but I refuse to run ethanol so I'm just gonna assume it would be quite a bit worse. Although my old ranger didn't get much better at all with high octane. Still its good for a turbocharged engine to have high octane fuel.
