Hey yall, I have a 21 Tremor that just hit 39k miles, and I recently started hearing a repeating clicking noise coming from the glove box area when I turn the truck off. I know that it is likely one of the blend doors or an actuator, so I've cycled through all of the different vent settings and temp settings with the truck running, and everything works perfectly. I'm wondering why the damn thing is cycling AFTER the truck is turned off, and I know all of those gears are plastic in there, so this will likely cause premature wear. Has anyone run into this same issue or heard of what might be going on?

Thanks!!

Air Inlet door actuator.
Pull Glovebox and look up to the vent opening.
When truck is shut off - 2 Actuators cycle
The Air Inlet and Mode Door , the noise is the Air Inlet trying to open

Well, the good news is it the passenger side. The actuators fail in 2 ways. One way the gears strip and click, the other way is that the actuator hunts for the right position and clicks bit when it changes direction. My drivers side was failing the hunting way. I changed it early before summer because I didnt want to do it when it was hot out. The brand new actuator makes a few, maybe 3 clicks right after start up on the 3 cold days it has seen. I live in florida, so I will be listening for clicks sometime in December. Since the brand new actuator had a few clicks I am thinking some of the hunting clicks is normal.

Take out actuator motor, open it up and grease the gears. That's how I stop that from happening on my 19 Lariat.

I hear the same thing on mine and it is a 2020 XLT.
Actuator motor needs to be taken out and open up and grease the gears. That should fix the problem.

Any dielectric grease - I prefer Molykote 33 expensive but awesome product.
The main thing on the actuators is the sweeper gets dirty.

Also don't get any grease on the tracks, otherwise it won't be able to find home and keep on trying like a demented cricket.
