Just picked up my truck from a local tire shop and the Duratracs completely change the appearance of my Ranger (in a good way). Hoping these tires perform as well as they look.

My Ranger has FX4 suspension package but is otherwise unmodified. Tire size 255/75R17 fills the wheel well nicely with about 1.5 inches clearance between the front crash bar when fully cranked.

Did a little research, but didn't find anything. Does any tire seller offer a better than average deal when purchasing 5 tires. Most folks who do drive their vehicles off road prefer to have a matching spare, and many folks who don't drive off road as well like to have the matching spare for 5 tire rotation.

Other than the $100.00 mail in rebate, there would be no additional savings for purchasing a 5th tire. However, the store location you choose to visit may give a trade in credit for your old spare, if it meets resale qualifications or you could sell the old spare privately to comp some of the cost.

Actually, the Goodyear Duratrac RT rebate amount is $100 for a set of four tires, $125 for five tires, and $150 for six tires. A maximum of six tires can be applied to the rebate, and all must be purchased on the same invoice.

OK, I guess I'm the guinea pig on this forum for the new DuraTracs. They look great, in my opinion. Louder than the stock Hankooks, but not obnoxiously loud. Here they are in 265/70/18. Same width as stock, and mounted on my stock wheels, about 2 inches greater in diameter. (I also upgraded my suspension).

Did you buy these at Discount Tire? I tried adding this size to my cart and I got a message stating Discount will only install tires that are factory rated or something and it made me hold off on purchasing.

When you add your vehicle, show it as having a lift/level. Then it will open up more sizing options. I bought 255/70/18 from them with no problems.

I did. I used 3.5" lift even though I really have a level and it still gave me that warning. I could proceed if I wanted to and buy them but I would hate to get to the shop and then be told they won't install. I'll just have to call them.

just call them. or talk to @Discount Tire here on R5G. they will get you all set up. They got my wheels tires and install all set up. they shop was ready for me when i drove up. red carpet style lol.

I've had the Duratracs for a couple of months now and have driven them on highway road trips, in-town errands, and even a bit a 4WD on dirt roads. They look great, but unfortunately these tires don't perform as I had hoped. The handling is noticeably more squishy, the steering is less responsive, and on the highway the truck kinda floats around. I don't know if this is because of weak sidewalls or other reasons. Although I've gotten used to the new handling characteristics, my Ranger has lost its truck feeling. I think my next set of tires will be BFGoodrich K03s.

What tires did you come from? All terrains by nature aren't going to be as responsive on the road as a highway focused tire.
