I should think somewhere there's a video tool that would let you do mock-ups with different colors and styles of things?
I'm sure there's a program out there (not sure if there's a free one) that lets you do that. I thought my builder would have one but he doesn't. I know Sherwin Williams has something similar where you can upload a picture of your room(s) and choose a color to see what it'll look like. I've seen this on flooring websites too (I did this with my AZ house) but you need to have an actual photo on these, it wont work from a blueprint.

Luckily I can envision everything from the prints but Ive had to do this for my job bidding new homes. Oh well ,Annie will have to wait a little longer. Good thing she likes surprises. lol

We picked everything together but she just can't seem to see what things will look like. What's worse is I have about 40-50 photos of what the inside will look like. One of the houses (I combined 2 different houses and made a few other changes of my own) I used to design this house is on the MLS and was built here back in 2012. They show every room and she still can't seem to tell from looking at those pictures and looking at the print what it'll look like. Besides changing a couple of ceilings to step ceilings, redesigning the master bath & closet and adding a front porch the house is 80% like the pictures.

The exterior elevations are different but the inside is very similar to this house. No cathedral ceiling in the great room I changed it to a step up ceiling and now might be adding a coffered ceiling to it. The master bed has a step up ceiling and the master bath only has a large walk in curdles shower with one larger 8'x10' closet. I'll be lucky to get 2 sq ft of it with all her stuff!

Trust me she's already started! We met a older couple who are moving to FL to be closer to family and they were telling us they're selling just about everything. Of course Annies ears perked up and next thing I know we were over there the next day. I will admit they had some really nice stuff and we bought just about all their Christmas stuff. They have a nice 8' spruce tree and the storage bags (they look like dead bodies ?) for only $20.00. All the totes and bags in the picture are full of nice ornaments and there's more stuff for the outside in another closet and were only $40.00.

They keep calling us to come over and get more stuff for free because they don't want to take it and have to move by August 6th. She gave Annie a nice 28" tv yesterday which she'll use as another monitor for work. She wanted to give me their brand new inversion chair (They paid over $200 with set up and never used it) but I told her I couldn't take it and to think a price she's comfortable with. She said she wouldn't accept any more than $50.00 so I'll be getting that this week. Good thing we have this addition off the house here to store it all!

I know but that's the largest house footprint I could squeeze onto the lot. I was trying to buy the lot next to me but they didn't want to sell it. They live in FL now (use to live here) and bought it before they moved in case they didn't like it down there. If I could've bought that one I'd have more room for the house and larger garage on that lot and would've run the septic on the lot I have now. I do have first shot at it if they decide to sell it. I could always put up a large garage/man cave there at some point.

I've never seen a city takes so long to do their permitting but after 13 weeks of waiting the third and final permit was just approved this morning!:whew: :handsinair: I guess the city is trying to find a full time engineer (not sure what happened to the full time one) and are now using the engineer from Bentonville part time. We were at a meeting at the end of July and the mayor said there were 515 permits in July alone. No wonder it's taking so long with one part time engineer working 20 hours/week.

My builder is now able to schedule the lot to be cleared and hopefully things will progress better from here on. I hope so because we've been buying so much stuff for the new house we're starting to run out of room here. lol We're going to need two moving trucks by the time spring comes.

Rent a shipping container for the new lot and just store it all on site. Can't wait to see pictures of the progress.

I wish I could Ed but there wont be enough room, it's only .30 of an acre. I would've loved to have had more land (like 10 acres) but it was hard enough getting Annie to move away from the big city. That's ok because it's nice and peaceful here and a good compromise for both of us.

You got a point there. lol But I'm sure they won't like the chainsaw being fired up when it comes time for me to cut up all the wood left from clearing the lot. And every year afterward stocking up for the stove. Oh well, there goes the neighborhood. :captain::bandit:
