Substitute a CR2025 battery for a CR2032 in my bicycle light?

My bicycle safety light is designed for CR2032 batteries and 2025's were all I had on hand. The CR2025's work but after a ride they go out and I'm assuming this is because of a lack of a snug contact.

I've heard they can be used in place of the CR2032's if you put a folded piece of aluminum foil on top of the battery to fill in the gap for the thinner CR2025's. Is this legit? and if so, is the foil placed on top of the battery as shown in the pick? How thick do you need to fold it up to make it snug enough? Thanks.

The 2032 means 20mm diameter and 3.2mm thick. So the 2025 is 2.5mm thick

Looking at the pic you don’t need foil maybe you can use a piece of cardboard from a cereal box as a spacer on top as shown in picture.

Wasn't there a time when people did something like that with fuses in their electrical panel? Or was it a coin or??
Anyway, I learned something useful today. Thanks, Andy.

The nice thing with how that battery connects is you don't need conductive material. Cardboard, paper, or tape will all work. Just need enough to keep it from wiggling away from the bottom contact.
