Rhino Liner removal from bed wall threaded holes

I just had my bed sprayed (2023 Tremor) with a Rhino Liner "Tough Grip" product. I asked the installer to plug the threaded accessory holes in the bed but he said he couldn't. I was told I could thread the bolts in to open it up after application. Lazy if you ask me.
Two questions:
What worked best for you to open those holes? Is there something that works to remove it or is threading a bolt or thread chaser the only way.
I looked at some other threads that stated M8-1.25 is the correct bolt to use. Is that 100% for all threaded holes in the bed? The liner is making it difficult to tell if the liner is causing the resistance or the bolt is crossthreaded or wrong size. Thanks

You will have better luck with a thread tap - M8-1.25 and M6-1.0

Use a tap to clean the material out.

The place that sprayed my truck used golf tees to plug the holes. He also removed the tie downs and took the screws out of the tail gate access panel, plugged the holes then put the screws back in after spraying.

Problem Solved! I heated up the bolts with a torch and then threaded them in slowly. Worked perfect. Softened up the liner enough to catch the threads. Did that 2 or 3 times each hole and removed the excess liner from the bolt. Thanks for the bolt specs. I would have missed the bed extender holes were a different size. Why not be consistent.

If it's reasonable fresh this was recommended for bedliner clean up. Maybe on a large Q tip? I bought 2 quarts when I did a project and barely used a 1/4 of one quart

They plugged my holes and or removed screws on my Zebart spray in. I would think you could twist up some painters tape and push it in. Or even a foam earplug etc.

Maybe use round wire brush (like a gun cleaning kit or hard plastic stray kind)

I used a tap to clean them out, i tried brushes etc and nope….. the tap cleaned them out easily. sorry i cant remember the size but someone else had posted it.

Definitely a lazy installer. Line-X installer that did my truck removed and reinstalled all fasteners and the bed rail caps. The only warning was that they would extract, but not replace any fasteners that break upon removal.

A tap with some oil would do a great job cleaning the threads. Just make sure to start the tap by hand before using a wrench. Could totally ruin the holes by crossing threading.
