Okay everyone has their favorite brand but hear me out. I bought a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses over 12 years ago. Pricey for sure but I’m an avid fisherman salt and freshwater. The polarized lenses and color through the optics are amazing. The temple rubbers were getting sticky from age. I called them for new temples and they shipped free of charge. Great customer service!!! As I was replacing the rubber the temple snapped because I was impatient. Oh crap I called back and they told me they would replace it for free but I have to ship it to them. As I was on the phone I noticed I had cracked one of the lenses too. They gave me an extremely great repair price…

My point is I’ve tried many major brands like Rayban and Oakley heck I know the production manager and 2 supervisors at Oakley. Maui Jim is probably the best customer service experience I’ve had in my entire life so it’s worth mentioning!!

each have their place. Costa and Native for fishing. Maui Jim and Ray Bans are more for style. Oakley for sports (prescription lenses). I have had good experiences with all from a customer experience perspective. Probably typical whenof this price range.

Maui Jim is definitely a solid company! I’m glad they took care of you! I fish in saltwater all the time and there are certain brands that are worth the money. Maui Jim is one of them. Bajio and Smith are also great with customer service and quality. Costa and Oakley were until they were bought out by the same company. Ow their customer service and quality is sub par compared to years ago. If you can find Costa glasses on clearance for 100 bucks with the 580 lens they are a good deal. If I’m spending over $200 it would be Bajio, Smith and Maui Jim in no specific order. The brand depends more on what you want than quality among those 3 in my opinion.

Great to know, like I said I got these over 12 years ago. I am just amazed with their service after that time period since they advertised 2 year warranty.

I have had several pairs of Ray Bans an they are my favorite. I have a few pairs now I can't wear (can but not the best situation) because a few years ago I had to start wearing glasses. From what I've seen the designer brands don't sell through private eye doctor offices. The chain places like lens crafters have them but they don't do squat for my insurance. Funny thing is ONE walmart near me takes my insurance an sells Ray Ban. I got a pair from them last time. I figured if one took it they all would but that's not the case.

Maybe I'll check out the Maui Jim frames next time.

I hear you but they are certainly taking care of me so I’m looking no further. Great business model!!!

I've always wore Oakley and I think the last pair I had (I still have them as a spare) were the razorblades. I just bought a pair of Costa which is owned by Oakley and these are polarized which make a huge difference. I would never own another pair that aren't now as they really cuts the glare down.

I didn’t buy my Maui Jim’s as a fashion statement. If I wanted fashion then I can get great deals at Oakley but they also advertise at being able to take the impact of a .22 bullet. I can say they really can for you doubters. I’ve calibrated their impact test machines for the past 10 years. They really do subject their lenses on a regular basis for testing. I just prefer my Maui Jim.

Keep those Oakley as you may need them for the thermonuclear weather you’re having… ?

I’m really not sure why this would be off topic. I’m pretty sure 80 % of Ranger owners wear sunglasses as a safety precaution. Maybe I’m just thick headed.. no complaints here..

Because it's about sunglasses and not Ranger specific. Besides, 100% (I really hope) where underwear but it's still off topic.

Unless you're David @subquark and wear Speedos. ??:puke:

So I was in the mall. Yes the mall where I drove MCE(Mall Crawler Elite).
They had these wrap type sunglasses with snap in prescription frame. So I have the dark polarized and the yellow. They cost $24 and prescription was $100.
