Most people know a common product called "seat jackers", mainly marketed for front seats for people who, generally, want to raise the front portion so they get a slight bottom lean back. So I am mulling over some new storage ideas, while keeping the rear bench seat in place. Anyone done anything like this?

Most "rear seat jackers" (what a weird name) for other vehicles appear to be nothing more than multiple steel spacers and new longer bolts. Is that pretty much all this crap amounts to? Of course they want to charge the ignorant a silly amount of money for what you can basically buy at a local hardware store.

I am looking to raise the rear seat 2-4" ( I need to see how much headroom the average 6' person has available back there just in-case I have a passenger) - that way I can see about building a one piece system with the the cubby storage we have integrated with that (toss the plastic trays and build something as part of the new system).

Now I believe on our seats, there is also a hook or U bolt to tend with (how the bottom seat locks in place), but I am confident I can fabricate my way out of that minor obstacle.

I bought the seat jackers for my truck. Used just one of the two spacers on the drivers side and reused the factory bolts. For the passenger side, I just added a couple of washers. I don't see any reason why you couldn't use a spacer and longer bolts.

Another idea I had is raising the front seats by about 2-4" and flooring installing a safe under them. I already ride the seat adjustment high, so I would just basically drop it to its lowest level, then raise my personal height right back up via spacers, but also increase floor to seat height in process.

As much as I understand what you want to do, be aware that you will only be able to fit.small adults and children in the back of you do this. I have had a few adults in the back of my truck and it was a tight squeeze. They joy of small and midsize trucks

Front seat lifts are fine as the seat and back are on unit, but are the back seats the same?
If you lift the rear seats 2 inches, will there be any troubles with the back of the seat interfering with any molding or the rear window?
