Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums, so I'm sure they may have been a post like this in the past. I'm looking for recommendations on bumpers. I figure if you have one, let me know what you think, how it does? What would you change? Any gripes about it? I'm looking at least for higher clearance and winch capability. Any feedback is much appreciated!

I figure nows a good a time as any to share the build as well.

Man that’s things a beast. If I didn’t use my Ranger for a daily and well if my bank account let me, I’d do something similar to this. Good looking setup. Wish I could help with the bumper but I’m sure there are many on here who will give your there input.

Thanks! The ranger has been an awesome platform. Great truck for daily and fun. But your definitely right, wallets don't like it haha.

TopoRanger has a high-clearance, but I can't remember if he fabricated it himself or not. I'm not familiar with the selection of bumpers out there, but wanted to bring up this thread/post: Australian Style Flatbed and Canopy Build | Page 15 | 2019+ Ford Ranger and Raptor Forum (5th Generation) - Ranger5G.com

Also, very nice rig! How do you like those bumper light inserts? Any decent output, or more for show?
He has the Coastal Offroad. I love my AFN, but they discontinued it. For a front bumper, ARB seems to be the way to go. Best looking, in my opinion. Though also crazy expensive.

I appreciate the point out too, looks like he has the coastal offroad, which is in my top contenders next to the ARB.
Those lights exceed expectations honestly, they are slightly brighter than my fogs and the best part is they can be turned on independently. I mostly use them to see the immediate ground when crawling but they are also nice for use when you want to keep the headlights off in camps at night, so you don't bright everyone sitting at their fire/tables. I like and recommend them!

Read my thoughts while typing haha. Yeah, seems like they are all expensive. And I am not sold on welding the coastal. I love the ARB look, I'm just not sure how much actual clearance is gained being it sticks out so far. Also for the rear I basically have no high clearance options aside from the coastal which is nice for the tire carrier as i can no longer store my spare under the bed. Question is, would the ARB front match the Coastal rear

I think it would. Coastal rear looks better than the ARB rear, imo. And gets you a lot more clearance.

That's what I was thinking. The coastal rear looks great. I'm sixes on price, as I don't have a welder so it'll end up costing the same as others to have built. The ARB front also has the best adaptive cruise relocation I have seen. I'm currently using the ADD, and it constantly grabs vehicles in the lanes next to me. Can seem to get it positioned right.

I have a coastal offroad center with some custom bits. Got it because i needed a winch and didn’t want the Weight of a arb because keep in mind if you add too much weight you may need to upgrade springs. Idk how the AFN compares weight wise but it seems more similar to the arb. Also I have seen a SVC frame cut in person and it gives barely more approach then the coastal does also All together the coastal was less than either of those and I paid someone to weld it.

Looks sweet! I like the idea of the bull bars for both ARB and Coastal as well. Never know when a deer will just pop out.
How does the adaptive cruise relocation work for you? If you have it. I like the center mount for the ARB. As I have problems with my current relocation

My ARB x Ford Performance bumper showed up today, I'll have it, the winch and lights installed this weekend and I'll post up some pics when done!

I have the westin one that side mounts and it works same as oem for me. Strange that you are having issues it might be because of your amount of front lift. Try adjusting the angle if possible idk.

I think the bar work is great I winch a lot and being able to wrap the rope around instead of always feeding it back in is an unexpected but very nice thing to have. The biggest thing between those 2 bumpers other than weight, Price, etc. is the ARB is crash tested at least In Australia so it is designed to work with the airbags and cars safety systems I donā€˜t know how the coastal or any other bumper compares I think some US companies like fabfours might do some testing but its not to the same extent but donā€˜t quote me on that. I think either way for overlanding they both get the job done and both have pros and cons but overall should add to your build really nicely. Also bonus pic cause y not

Those are good points to consider.
Yeah maybe is has to do with angle on my ACC or a recal, not sure why I can get it to work right. Mine mounts to the side as well, next to the front badge, so I think ours is similar. I'll f with angle some more but it is definitely a pain behind the grill.

Thanks for the pics and input! Great looking truck.
