I just like any opportunity to take a dig at Mr. Bozos. Although he certainly has the last laugh with me!

He makes sooo much money and there's no denying Amazon got it right with what they do. We used to sell our games on their site and the $ they take from each sale was crazy. Our games were selling for $18 and the Amazon cut was $3.63! Granted, there's no competition when it comes to eyes on a product.

I'll be posting Soupie's build soon and all will see that most accessories came from Amazon. Just the big things, like the tonneau cover and side steps, came direct from the manufacturers (I can't say enough on how awesome Bak's customer service is).

It so easy to order from them and, what probably matters the most to me, so easy to see what I got in the past (we take lots of vitamins).

And the quasi-anti-Amazon attitude that I have is met with the irony that many of Soupie's dump runs (the joy and purpose of my life) is to bring Amazon boxes to the dump!

It's a vicious cycle - I need intervention! =D

Just one afternoon of packages for the fittings for my new air compressor. Hey, at least I break down the boxes ... =p

I agree with you that buying from the manufacturer is the way to go, but when available for the same price along with free shipping. But there are many items, smaller stuff, that Amazon sells/carries that are just not available either due to the area you live in, or finding it locally means paying 3,4,5 times the price that Amazon charges...
Perfect example are the 3/4 inch rubber plugs we all have been buying to cover the rocker panel holes...Lowes and Home Depot price runs around $4 bucks for two.......Amazon price is $11.99 for 25.
Odd size stainless steel button head metric bolts to fill some of the threaded holes in the bed...unavailable where I am, Amazon...had them in 3 days.
Items for our travel trailer...very high priced at local rv dealer. Half to 2/3 the price on Amazon, for the exact same item.
Not saying Amazon is perfect, but they do serve a need for hard to find, of locally unavailable items.

Have you removed your drop in liner yet? I had one that I bought to keep the paint pretty when I bought the truck new. When I went to sell the truck, I removed the bedliner to show off the brand new paint beneath, only to discover the drop in bedliner had rubbed off all the paint below it like someone took a sander to it. What's the point? Now I run the naked bed until it gets too ugly to stand and then spray if there's no physical damage to the bed or drop in liner if its damaged.
I haven’t taken the plunge to do it yet. I may wait until spring at this point, I’ve got some ballast weight in the back already for northern Ontario winter. I also bought winter tires and rims so may delay an alternative for a bit while my credit card recovers

I had an OEM drop in on my 1999 Ranger but never removed it. Was told by a reliable source that these can shift under certain conditions and scratch paint like you said. Also, they could possibly trap water between them and the bed in certain circumstances. I opted for the spray in on the 2020.

That's not a dumpster - that's Soupie!

Woohoo - we have a mini, tee-niny, dump run later today:

It was a small but glorious dump run, even the foreman was exited:
