The owner of our local dealership is my cousin and has been one of my good friends since we were little so he's promised me the first crack at the new Ranger Raptor when the order banks open up.

My question is, "Do I really want the Raptor over the 2024 Tremor?"

I think I'd be giving up fuel economy and ~$10,000+ as well as potentially tow rating (I sometimes tow a SxS) to get the Raptor, which I'll use as a daily driver and a hunting truck. I definitely won't use it as a rally truck, though I often hunt in rugged terrain and snow so I like the off-road capability.

No doubt the Raptor is definitely COOLER.

Is it worth the money for the Raptor, when I don't think it will really have upgrades that are that useful to me and potentially have negatives attached with it?

Or am I wrong and fuel economy and tow ratings will likely be comparable to a Tremor? Are there upgrades to the Raptor that are useful in my situation that I'm overlooking?

Thanks for the advice.

Compare the F-150 Raptor, and F-150 Tremor. The point of the Tremor was to offer a better than FX4 off road suspension without the loss of payload and towing; something the Raptor gave up.

Raptor should have bigger engine and more vroom!

My 5g stock already has great acceleration in sport mode, so I can only imagine it with an extra 100- 130 hp in the new 6g Raptor.

If budget were no hindrance, I would go with the Raptor.

I'm sure the gas mileage will be worse with the 3.0 v6 as there's no way you're staying out of the boost with that. lol Here's a article I found over on the 6G site. There's no date on it and I have no idea how accurate it is but it does give some pretty good detailed specs on the Raptor. It's hard to tell if it'll be worth the extra money until the order banks open up and we can see the specs and pricing.

Biggest downfall for me with the raptor is the rear suspension. I need the ability to carry weight more than I need to go fast down bumpy roads. Raptor definitely has the cool factor. I might be able to scratch that itch by getting the wife a bronco down the road.

When I first started looking at Rangers and discovered what a Tremor package was, the difference was described to me as: Raptor's were built for high-speed, Baja desert style off-roading, where as the Tremor was designed for steep, rocky terrain.

I play in the Rocky Mountains...steep, rocky terrain. So that's what I tell myself anytime I think the Raptor's look cooler! But the added expense would have ruled out the Raptor even it was available at the time.

Thanks for the insight and article link. It'll probably depend on how I'm feeling whatever day the order banks open. No question the Tremor is probably the smarter package for me, but I don't know if I can walk away from a Raptor if I'm given the chance to get one. We're all just big kids, right ?

How do you know they’re offering a Tremor in 2024? Assumption?
The fact that they have the Tremor on Maverick, Ranger, F-150, and Super Duty makes me think it's a package that is sticking around. I could be wrong though.
