They must have been in a rush for those early Black Friday sales. Amazing to see no one was hurt and the F150 stayed in one piece. One thing I can say is that from those here who've been in some really bad accidents these Fords really protect the driver and passengers.

We’ve seen some pretty nasty crashes involving the Ford F-150 over the years, but no matter how bad those wrecks look, it’s typically impressive to see how well the pickup holds up to major impacts. But this 13th gen Ford F-150 that recently crashed into the side of a Walmart in in Taylorsville, North Carolina is a different sort of accident, one that involved the truck smashing through the cement wall and winding up on the other side. However, the truck managed to stay in one piece, and the driver apparently wasn’t harmed, either, according to a post about the accident from the responding Central Alexander Fire Department.

If only they'd have used Graphene, then you could buff it right out!
? I'm guess they have a damper. Look how perfect the bed of the truck is.?

I can attest to how Ford protects their drivers and passengers. I had a '95 Ford Escort back in the early 2000's. During an early morning commute (approx. 5-5:30am) I had to pass through a construction zone. They were converting a two-lane road into a four-lane but the other side wasn't complete at the time, so it was still two-way traffic. I was northbound and there was a tractor trailer going southbound. One problem was that the truck was in my lane, the other is that there was a concrete barrier to my right side so I could not swerve to avoid the truck. He plowed into the front of my car...shoving the driver's side headlight, and most of the front of the car (what was left of it) completely back against the firewall, shattering my driver's side window and warping the frame of my car to where it almost looked like the letter "C". The impact was so hard that it knocked the keys out of my ignition...after impact I had the sense to turn off the ignition so I wouldn't become a fireball as well...I had to sort through the glass and other broken pieces of my car to find my keys in order to do so. Luckily, I found them in the passenger's side floorboard. The car was a completely mangled mess. I got out with just a few cuts on my forehead from the breaking glass and a couple of bruises on my chest and abdomen from the seat belt. I'm not saying that other manufacturers don't make safe vehicles, but I know firsthand that Ford does. That's kinda why my family owns Ford vehicles...all of us.

Wow Terry glad you're ok and that must of been a horrific experience. It amazes me how bad some wrecks are and by looking at them you'd think there's no way anyone could survive yet most walk away with minor injuries. I don't think some people take into account the amount of testing (and the cost of it) when they're buying a vehicle.

I'd be willing to bet they could have just put it in reverse and driven away.

It was quite horrific indeed. It took quite some time before I could close my eyes and not see that truck’s headlights barreling down on me.

I do remember calling Ford HQ and telling them thank you for building a quality vehicle. They were appreciative. Nothing more ever came of that call, but I didn’t expect it to. I just wanted to say thanks.

It was also a little horrific for the woman in the vehicle behind me. I remember climbing out of the driver’s side window and turning to look at the truck (he kept on going and never stopped) and the lady saw my face and screamed. I had blood running down the left side of my face from the broken glass. She had a terrified look on her face as I approached her. When I asked her if she had and napkins or a rag to wipe off my face I thought she was going to faint. ? I couldn’t help but chuckle at that moment. It must have been because I was experiencing some shock from the wreck.

I can't believe the truck didn't stop. Did they ever catch him?

There's so many incidents of wrong way drivers here (a weekly if not more occurrence) it's scary to drive at night on the highways. I think I would guess I'm seeing things have headlights coming at me. ?

That poor lady must of thought you were the walking dead. lol ?‍♂ Glad you're ok and can somewhat joke about it now.

No, they never did catch him or figure out who it was. All I know is that it was a Schneider truck. I figure, being that early in the morning, that I woke him up and disturbed his nap.

Looking back on it now I can laugh about it, but there for a bit I was a little traumatized.

I know it's water under the bridge now but I would've contacted Schneider Trucking. I'm sure they could've figured out who it was by the route, data logs and all the paint from your car on his rig.

I think seeing headlights at night would still traumatize me a bit even today. It's good to know even theFord Escort was built to high crash standards back then.

Unfortunately that was 20 years ago and I was much younger and not as wise to how things work. Oh well. I’m still here and kicking and that’s all that matters…although there are probably some days that my wife would disagree ??

That little Escort was an awesome car. Kinda makes me wish Ford would bring back their car line, other than the Mustang that is. I’ve had some really good luck with Ford cars…well, their build quality at least. ?
